Morning all! Sorry I haven't been around much to post. I started my new position on Monday so I've been busy training all day, trying to find out what I need to be doing!

Other than that, I've been eating more than I should & just barely getting enough exercise... It's so incredibly hard to stay motivated in the winter! I'll be doing much better when it warms up a little and there are things to do besides watching TV at night ... when the temperature is actually above freezing! I made it to the gym last night though so I'm fairly proud of myself on that matter. And managed to eat decently, although I had Taco Bell for lunch.

My apartment is freezing today! The heat didn't work all night so I've got to call my landlord this morning - it's about 56F inside! I've got candles going, water boiling on the stove. .. just to thaw before I go to work. Slept with about five blankets last night so I slept fine, but it's so cold out of bed!

What I've remember from scanning the last couple of days -

Jess - that's awesome that you're working at Subway! I worked there for a year and a half in college and the food was excellent - I don't know about you, but I never got sick of sandwiches! And the free food as perks really helps out!

Kierie - I've got my fingers crossed for you regarding the interview!

Laura - I wrote the recipe down, will definitely be trying it. with a few modifications as I have no crockpot!

KT - I'm sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope it's feeling better soon so that you don't have to miss the concerts!

Lexxy - The South Beach Diet sounds like it will work. After the induction phase, is it something that can be easily maintained, or does it sound like something that only works for a specific time period? Just wondering what you thought of it so far I'll have to look up a copy of the book to really check it out- I could definitely use a change!

Jen - Hope you are feeling better today!

Off to work (way earlier than I'm used to!)

Hey all. Well I barely made it yesterday. Hubby went home early. I had to shut my door and rest because I almost chucked. Feeling a little better today. I am weak since I didn't eat much yesterday and also have a horrid headache. I was in bed before 8 last night.

Note about the taco soup. I have made something similar and made it on the stove. So if you don't have a crockpot, use a kettle on the stove and I am sure it will taste just fine. The crockpot will allow the flavors to mingle more tho.

Tonight I have to take the kids to swim class, so I need to muster some strength. I am sure I will be in bed early again. I just hate being sick. And with hubby sick also it is miserable because he always whines and moans more.

Happy Hump Day everyone.

Kier - try to resist being a Monica lewinsky (kidding.....I am Canadian, it's fun to have a government that has bigger scandals than calling eachother names.....and investing in hotels?) I hope you get the job Girl!!

Good morning to you all!

Lexxy - it sounds sort of like the program I am on (nutritionist program). I have lost 12lbs and 3% body fat. I am happy with it so far but I feel like I eat all the time!! So contrary to my old ways.....

Hi Angie!! My condo was icy the past week, but it's warming up in Calgary finally!! I hope you stay warm! Buy an electric blankey!!

Jen....HS was a crap time for me too, and I went to a huge HS - my graduating class was 400. I think you should be proud of what you have become. Funny how much HS people effect our lives, eh? I hope you feel better!!

Well, must go back to work, ttfn!

KO, I didn't modify the recipe, it was just a similar recipe that my hubby made. It was from a cookbook I have. Very tasty. I don't think mine had ranch in it. I will have to find the recipe to know for sure what the difference was. However, it was made on the stove top like other soups. So I am sure this one can be made on the stove also. Just let it simmer for 30 minutes, or until you can't wait any longer!!!

Hey girls!

Jen, hope you feel better soon, and take care of yourself!

Angie, the phase 2 of South Beach is definitely something that can be done long term. It's just a matter of being careful about how many carbs you add back so that you're still losing - but they should still be low sugar. Then phase 3 is when you reach goal and are just wanting to maintain. That's basically what anyone would consider to be a heathly mealplan. Not too much is said about that phase. The good thing is that it is meant to be a fluid plan, meaning that if you mess up royaly during phase 2, just go back to phase 1 for 2 weeks to reduce cravings. And don't worry, I'm not going over to the "evil" SBD message boards

Belle, congrats on the loss!

KT, good to hear that your coworkers are helping out, although I think you should have totally called in! When would you have a better excuse?

Lynnie, I'm so sick of winter too. I wanted to run outside this morning, but even though temps were above freezing (for once), the pavement was still a sheet of ice. Can't win!

Kierie, have 'fun' with chore day!

Starting day 2 without sugar....starting to get a bit irritable

Default What A Day!!

Whoo, it's starting off to be quite a day for me! I got up early, and was really pleased with myself. But, for some reason, when I get up early, I add about 50 things to my morning get-ready list, which ends up making me late. This morning was no exception. I left my house 10 minutes late and right about the time I should have been walking into work, a snowplow was pulling out in front of me. I was 15 minutes late for work, thanks to this big dumb snowplow! I was so frustrated and angry (and PMS-ing) that I almost cried.

I have a major problem with the city/state street/highway snow-clearing crews. In Nebraska, I think they seek out the people with the lowest IQs to be part of these crews. I've been getting more and more frustrated each time that it snows (which has been almost daily for the last couple of weeks). They always ALWAYS put all the snow from the alley that runs behind my apartment directly behind my car. I can never get out of my parking spot when it snows. I don't own a snowshovel and can see no reason why I should have to purchase one, since my landlord has a snow-cleanup crew. Then, when I finally do manage to get my car out of my parking spot, I have to contend with the streets themselves. Snowplows here in Blair don't put their blades down. Seriously, I don't even know why they bother. They leave their blades a good 4" off the ground! On Main Street, they put all the snow in the middle of the street (in the turning lane), which makes it nearly impossible to turn left from anywhere. Then, there was the incident this morning... I'm sorry to be so worked up, but this has been building up for quite awhile. And as much as I'd like to call someone and complain, I'm afraid it just won't do any good. So I complained here and feel a little bit better. Thank you.

OK, I had WI last night and was up .6. I was a little bummed about it, but I know what I have to do to remedy it and I fully intend to do it. I simply have to get back into my size 12 jeans.

Angie--Thanks for stopping in, it's good to see you! And nope, so far, I haven't gotten sick of sandwiches. I don't think I probably will. The only tough thing for me to resist is the cookies!

Jen--Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well! I can't imagine being sick and being a mommy. I know that there is no way I could do it.

Kier--I totally feel the same way about the weather we're getting. I just want to stay in bed and rest when it snows. I want to spend the day alternating between reading and napping... Wouldn't that be the best?? Good luck accomplishing everything on your "to-do" list!!

Belle--That's gotta be rough, feeling like you eat all the time. However do you do it? I wish my insurance covered going to a nutritionist (because I don't think I could afford it). I like Weight Watchers, but sometimes I wonder if I'm getting all the things my body needs. Then again, I suppose WW has some nutritionists working for them.

OK, sugars, I gotta get a little work done before I go work out over lunch. I'll try to stop in again later. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Jess, Emma was a doll last night. I told her that mommy was sick and that I didn't think I could read her stories before bed. She say "thats OK mommy, I read you a story". So as I am laying on the couch, she sits on the floor with her book and makes up a story by looking at the pictures in her book. It was adorable!!! That was the good part, the bad part was right after we got home, hubby had to snow blow because we got a lot of snow, so I was inside with both kids and Emma had a tantrum. I thought I was going to die.

I ordered soup for lunch. I can't wait. My tummy is feeling hungry, but my head still aches. I wonder if I lost anything since I didn't eat much at all yesterday. Tho I am sure it will all come back on because it was probably all water.

Can't stay right now. My shoulders are very sore from working the crutches yesterday and my ankle is no better as far as I can tell. I had a shower last night (what a production - try showering without being able to put your 2nd foot on the ground!) but the ankle is still swollen but not purple. i'm getting a lot of desk work done...My best friend's ex hacked into her e-mail and for the past 8 months or so he's been receiving duplicates of every e-mail she gets. I have to look into filing an "invasion of privacy" complaint.

Hi to everyone - I'll try to do a real post later.
