Default Acne

Does anybody do something homeopathic for acne? I am afraid I might be about to develop it again. I have been using tretinoin cream on my face daily for a couple of years, and just quit about 3 months ago with the antibiotic cream, since the doctor said to quit it after my face had been totally clear for 6 months. Now suddenly I have 4 pimples on my chin and above my lip, and one trying to pop up in the fold next to my nose. They appeared one day at a time, in the matter of 3 days. I don't know what is up! I started back on antibiotic cream again. I'd like to avoid getting oral antibiotics again - has anybody got some good home remedies I can combine with the creams? (Without buying a fancy expensive kit - I'd like to stay on the tretinion cream). I guess I'm asking for quite a bit here!

Gosh that sounds like me...soon as I went on that Yasmin...ZIT City...

Fortunately, my face is clear again. I was using a soap from a japanese company called DHC for years...I had bad acne back then and I started using their soap..and my face got really clear in about 3-4 days. Wonderful stuff! Then I decided to try to find other cleansers, but nothing worked as good as this stuff. I finally broke down and switched back to my original soap that they make and my skin cleared up completely again...The soap is clear and pure and doesnt leave a residue...Comes in different sizes too! You can get 3 of the reg. sized round bars for $15, or their large size bar for $10. I use the large size bar cause it's easier on my hands. It might seem expensive but a bar lasts me about 3 months so I figure thats $3.33 a month...worth it to me. I have some free mini soaps they sent me with my big soap if you want to try it without risking spending the $$. Just let me know and I can send you some...they last about 10 days or so.

I also have a book here ..."The Worlds Best Kept Beauty Secrets". I'll browse through it this weekend for ya and see what it says about some homemade stuff for acne. Another thing that another book I have says (and I use to do this LOL!) is to take the inside of a raw egg shell and put it on the zit and wait 15 mins. It draws out the pus and gunk from the zit. Might look funny but feels GOOD when you have 1 of those annoying painful ones.

Oh, DHC!!! I had a sample soap from them once and it felt soooooooooooooooooooo good. Little clear round samples that came glued in the catalog? I totally forgot about that soap. I've been using Burts Bees Tomato Garden soap. The good thing is that my face is clearing back up. I hope it lasts. That was really scary for a few days because I thought acne was coming back.

I will look for the DHC site again and check it out. Thanks for reminding me they exist! So, the egg shell thing really works? Never heard that, but will try it next time one needs it.

www.dhccare.com

Did you have the mild soap or the pure soap sample? There are 2 different kinds of soaps. I prefer the pure cause it cleans just a little bit better for my skin type plus the mild has honey in it which I am allergic too. You can request 4 free samples I believe...unless they changed things. Good stuff though all around! I use their lip glosses and eye creams...tried the shampoo and hair stuff..waste of $. LOL!

Hey I meant to ask you what do you use for toner? Sometimes different toners can make us break out. I switched to a mild witch hazel rose hip toner. MUCH gentler than other toners but it costs a bit more. You can get it at a health food or vitamin store I believe. Just a thought....

NO TONER?! LOLOL!! Teasin ya.... Seriously though, it's good for cleaning out some of the junk that causes the acne..the bits of dust and other crap that turns into bacteria or whatever it does. I get too shiny if I dont use some toner. I look like a wax apple! LOL!!

Ooh, sounds good if it will get rid of the shine. I might try Burts Bees since I am using the soap already. If that doesn't do much, I'll give yours a shot. (I don't really like the smell of witch hazel but will do it if I must!)

Ahhh...but the good thing about this kinda witch hazel is it doesnt stink like witch hazel. It has a slight rosey smell...all organic. The normal witch hazel stuff makes me all dry and itchy. This stuff is wonderful though! I think it's about $8 or so a bottle but 1 bottle lasts me about 6 months so that isn't too bad...The eye cream I use costs $29!! ACK!! But it's from DHC so that's why...good stuff though! This jar has lasted me a little over a year so I guess thats not too bad of a price either...I just gripe cause...I like to gripe? Kidding... I'm usually a cheap skate is why.
