Default Body for Life?

Who here follows the Body for Life plan and success have you had? I am thinking about jumping on board and dont know anyone who follows the plan, everyone i know either does Weight Watchers(where i am coming from) or does Atkins. Weight Watchers works but i find myself gaining and losing and craving more carbs after i just ate carbs. I went to the site and saw the success stories, but i want to get some input from people i know are "real". I dont want to go and buy ANOTHER book to add to my diet book collection.

HI Jess,

You've found the right board! May I suggest a look at the Stats sticky at the top of this forum. You'll find a lot of results there!

I just finished my first BFL challenge. I lost 18 pounds and 14 inches in 12 weeks. I've changed so much that I've inspired 3 people to get on the program!

If you decide to do this, here's a few tips:

Get to a place where you can do this challenge for 12 weeks NO MATTER WHAT.

Write down your measurements, size, weight, get before photos, all of that. It will help you. My scale didn't budge much until the 10th week or so. But I'd lost 10 inches in 6 weeks. If I didn't have that I might not have stuck with it.

Don't tweak the program.

Of course there are many here with much more experience, and I'm sure they'll be posting soon!

Welcome, and good luck!!

BFL is a good beginner's guide to weightlifting and learning about nutrition and exercise. I recommend reading into it some more.

However, I am personally weary of the success stories. Everyone is going to have different results no matter what the training program is. BFL, like any other program, will use the best results to sell their product.

Thanks for the replies! I am not a beginner to lifting nor nutrition,i have been lifting for years now and i know what i should eat,i am the type of person who has to have somehting written out before me to be successful,so i am seriously thinking about combining ww with the body for lifeish way of eating. Maybe with a lil more carbs, just not those that make me crave more. I am woking it out on paper and gonna see how this goes for me

I've tried WW point counting and BFL and it doesn't work... BFL recommends much more protein than the points will allow with
WW... I much MUCH prefer BFL...IMO...

I've also tried WW with BFL, and have done WW in the past. WW does not feed you enough if you are exercising, especially if you are weight training. You'll end up underfed, which means you'll burn muscle tissue not fat, and in my case it made me very prone to catching every single cold.
