Smile Hunger Subsides

I am on day 4 and I am noticing that my hunger has greatly subsided. I have experienced this before on low carb diets. Once I stop eating the carbs, my entire outlook on food seems to change....

I have eaten less than 600 calories today and about 24 carbs (still have dinner and a snack to go so I will not be undereating by the end of today) but I am completely satisfied....

Does anyone else notice this?

Yes, me too. Hunger seems to leave, and I think you'll find no craving for sweets, etc. At least that was my experience. That has always been a problem for me - the craving. So it was a pleasure not to have to deal with it. Keep up the good work. Lizzie

Unhappy Cravings and Hunger

I am starting Phase 2 of SBD and I still have cravings although not as bad as the first week when I could have killed for semi-sweet chocolate but the biggest problem is that I still feel hungry all the time, even though I am drinking lots and lots of water and eat a SB recommended snack between meals. I had a very "large" dinner - pork loin on the grill and a whole grilled green pepper and 1/2 an egg plant and sweet & sour cucumber salad made with dill, vinegar, salt and Splenda. I still feel hungry like I could eat another meal. This has been going on for the past two weeks and it is very hard not to eat more than I should. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know if your doing something wrong, but I do remember
when I was doing atkins 5 years ago I read an article about sweetners. They were saying that sometimes sweetners will have a similar affect on your sugar levels. You may want to try and cut out everything sweet or just try using Stevia as a sweetner for a week and see if it makes a difference. I have also taken to having a glass of psyllium in water before lunch and dinner and that will fill me up. Also, try using fitday.com and see if maybe there are hidden sugars in any of your food. I don't know if any of those will matter, but it worth trying....good luck!!!!
