Coffee's on and I'm wide awake. I don't slep so well during the summer months, but I really suspect that it's more to do with dh being away this week in Hotlanta for business. He called last night and told me he had drinks with the CEO of the company! Whoooohoooooo!!!
As for me, well Miree and I are reconnecting after her 10 day vacation. Yesterday she went to her first day of camp and today we are going to the drop in center's summer program. Should be lots of fun!
I am trying to be extra vigilant with my eating--one thing I notice is that I don't eat as much and I do drink more. However, the pounds haven't come off, I've gained! I strongly suspect my anxiety medication which does make me gain. But you never know--I do take daily walks and have been increasing physical activity so it might very well be muscle!
Good early morning my chicky friends! DH was up at 3:30 this morning to get in line to submit plans to the city. They only take seven a day. Yesterday he was there at 5:45 a.m. and was too late. He was there this morning before 4:30 and was #7. Needless to say, I couldn't go back to sleep. Oh well, a bit of quiet puter time with my friends here before real life takes over.

Shirleyanne and I are having a great time. We went to a quilt show in Ottawa before we drove here yesterday - lovely quilts that are in memory of cancer victims and survivors and will be auctioned off to raise research money. Now I'm all inspired to quilt something! Maybe a potholder?
May pop in later. Shirl did not sleep in but was up at 6! Now she is out walking Hershey - I may keep her!
Another hot, humid day in the Great Lake state. Good news is we have gotten quite a bit of rain lately. I do not have to drag those darn hoses out to water the lawn. Much of the rain has come from thunderstorms. I love a good thunderstorm, especially at night.
The boys will be home with their cousin today, I am of to the management consultant center. Since the company feels slightly guilty for letting so many people go, it has lined up this consultant group to help people brush up on their interviewing skills and rewrite resumes. Mine was a disaster. It is about 20 years old with a few updates, but today's resume is focused on accomplishments and not job discriptions. I have met many great people that have also been let go, it is hard to believe that a company can release so many talented people. What a shame.

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. We got back late on Sunday from the basketball tournament down in Jacksonville. The boys did very well--they won 4 lost 2. The one game they lost went to double overtime and it was against a big school that goes to State every year. It was so incredibly hot in the gyms -- over 120, I don't know how the boys were able to play like they did. I think that the boys enjoyed it, other than the occasional screaming fit by our coach.(long story) I made it through the solo trip without DH with flying colors and the boys made it through the hotel stay without any mishaps. Every single boy on the team had parents and or grandparents that traveled down to watch the team play. For being such a small school I think we probably had the largest/loudest fan group.
Only downside to the trip was I didn't get my Body Fexing in for 2 days. TOM is due tomorrow and even though I have been BF'ing the last 2 days I am feeling very bloated. Eating has been so-so. Need to get a better handle on that again now that I am back. I think that I will wait and measure again next week instead of this week since I missed the 2 days and will have TOM. Last week's results were so encouraging that I don't want get bummed out this week. (What a chicken I am ! )
Tomorrow is my DS 17th birthday. Where in the heck does the time go????????
Jenny!! I was asking about you and the boys the other day. I was hoping that you would post soon so that I could see how you are doing. Hey, send some of that rain this way will you--I have been watering flowers and grass forever.

120 in the gym? OY! - thats HOT! Glad the boys did well and you handled the solo trip OK. Last summer SH was being, well, a SH and refused to go on our big Disneyland/San Diego trip. I was freaked out at first but printed out all the yahoo maps from airport to hotel, etc. and the kids and I did just fine! (me and the 3 kids flew from Sacramento to Aniheim, took a shuttle to a hotel accross from DL, stayed there for 4 days, took a shuttle back to the airport to rent a car then drove down to San Diego for 5 days, then drove to SD airport and came back home! - this might not seem like a big thing to those who are regular independent travelers BUT it was HUGE for me!)
Nice to see you back Jenny - travel ball is extremely exciting and we are enjoying it LOTS but it is VERY different than rec. ball.

Cloudy and cool here on the Wet Coast with chance of showers. I have many errands to run and the cooler weather makes that a bit easier. I have to exchange some pants I bought the other day without trying them on. Normally that size would fit me but they are of a stretchy fabric and cling to every ripple and roll and I prefer a looser fit, especially in a beige pant. Looks too much like my bulging flesh.
Ruth, I'm just so proud of you in One-derland. I'm almost inspired to write a poem in your honour....almost. I know what you mean about being inspired by quilts. I have all the squares made by members of my women's club spread out on my bed and I realize that we need four more before we can start putting them together with strips. I guess I'll have to be making the squares as we want to start getting it put together ready for raffling by autumn. I think I have too many sewing/craft projects on the go already.
Pooky, I bet you are very happy to have that little gal of yours back home but wasn't it great to have that 10 day break?

Sure has been quiet on the boards lately. Everyone must be out doing something toooooo exciting to mention here! I, for one, have been living as close to the air conditioner vent as possible. The heat index went over 100 today, can you say sweat?? Otherwise, same old same old around here.
