Default New to the Board and following Atkins

Hello everyone!

I have been reading through your posting for a few weeks, and have finally got the guts to post!

I am 38 years old and need to lose about 100 lbs.

I gained most of my weight during a not so great relationship in my late 20s. Once I met my wonderful husband, it wasn't so much of an issue. Last year, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (the most wonderful day of my life), and took four months off for maternity leave. Right before going back to work, I got on the scale for the first time since giving birth and was SHOCKED! Though I had gained weight being pregnant, I had gained even more being home with the baby! So, my starting point, in August of 2002, was 315! I have managed to get it down to 272 following the Atkins plan, but seem to be stuck and very depressed about it!

OK... enough spilling my guts on the first post! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome to the board! Hop on over to the daily thread when you get a chance, we're really friendly around here. I've plateaued more than once myself, the trick is not to give up like I do and put it all back on.

Thanks for the welcome, Dyan! Everyone is here has been so nice. It's good to talk to people who understand what I'm going through.

I'm still pretty new at this, so, bear with me... where is the daily thread?

Angry Welcome Angellew

Hope you find all the friends and info you are looking for!

I am also following Atkins, since May 26, still doing induction. Have lost about 10 of the 70 lbs I need to lose (maybe more?).

Let me know how you are doing...and if you like I can lead to more boards/links for atkins/lo carb eating.

Good luck!

Don't feel bad Angelle! I have suffered the "after baby" weight gain too and it's because our bodies are just primed for carbs! Keep sticking with the plan and incorporate more exercise and I know you will feel like a million dollars! Oh and don't forget to drink your water!!

Welcome girl glad to have you aboard. I know the feeling I gained 60 with my first and never got back down to the no baby fat!1 although I did come close that alst time (then started work and stopped exercise) Let your body focus on the weight loss that you have done so far before you focus on more losses. it needs time to readjust. then start to plug your foods into www.fitday.com and then you can see where the cals and carbs are sneaking in.

Welcome!!!

I did the weight gain after my daughter was born too. Its alot of work, but well worth it. Stick to it, and dont get discouraged.

If your not exercising, start it up, and it doesnt have to be much, one block at a time, or 5 min at a time. The stronger you get, the longer you will go.

Drink your water, and eat your veggies. Let us know how your doing.

Robin
