Judy -- Our house is just a few miles from the ocean. One of the pluses of living in Maine before we bought the house was that I realized I wanted to be close to the water. The apartment we are in right now is about a 25-30 min drive to see the ocean. The new place will be about 10 min. I want to be able to just spontaneously go to the ocean. I don't necessarily mean a beach, but there a number of lovely parks where you can take a lovely walk with a gorgeous view!

The ocean soothes my soul....

However, the pizza last night did not!! Actually, my eating wasn't too bad yesterday, because hubby and I were so busy running around we never ate lunch!

Hi all. I'm slowly moving back toward being OP, but still struggling. Working this weekend on getting the house de-cluttered. Trying to get back to daily accountability.

Heather, the new location sounds SOOOOO fabulous. Our vacations the last two summers have been to lake towns, and walks along the lake are just the tops, in my book.

Heather - Congrats on the house... and so close to the ocean... that is very nice...

Vortex - I, too, need to work on some decluttering... I did get some laundry folded and put away today so there's a bit right there...

My nephew is in for a few days... he is like my other son... we went and had Chinese food today... I was pretty good... filled my plate with lots of broccoli and green beans and then of course chicken... I did have a small egg roll and some ice cream but I counted everything... and walked about 60 minutes so that helped offset everything... it was nice to spend time with him... just us two...

In the morning, planning on being up with the sun to get in some walking before the rain... or at least before it gets hot here...

I hope everyone has a great evening...

Hey girls. Quick check in over the weekend. Hope you're all having a good holiday break.

I spent the day with my younger son. He's turning 16 in a couple weeks, so I had him practice driving for about 2.5 hours as we ran errands all over the county. It was his first time on the freeway. He did really well. Since coming home, we've been watching T.V. and laughing, teasing the dog and wrestling on the bed. He thinks he's so strong, since he's been conditioning for football. But I still outweigh him and am better at leveraging myself and pinning him down. But he finally wore me out. Now we're watching PBS. A show about Churchill. So glad there's no football on!

I had planned to make today a low calories day, and hadn't eaten more than 400 calories by 2 p.m. But then we went out for lunch, and I totally made up the rest of my calories for the day. I'm still feeling very full, but I really, REALLY want pie. And buttered popcorn. And roasted, salted almonds. And fried chicken. I already went to the kitchen to search for all of that. I'm really feeling too full to eat any of it, and yet the craving exists. I'm really not sure why. I'm going to drink more water, but I think something emotional is going on. Not sure what it is yet.

Good to hear from you Georgia... sounds like you had an awesome day with your son... loved days like that when my son was home...

I know those cravings too... I have days like that sometimes... no matter how many times I go to the fridge... I cannot find what I want... which is usually something sweet LOL

My scales look awesome but wont stay where they are today. I have been on a steriod pack and that always increases the effects of the water pill in my blood pressure med. SO where most people gain weight on them I lose. I am back to what I weighted in mid may. I am going to try my best and keep my calories under control and keep most of the weight off.
We havent been playing wii and will unplug it today and plug back in our dvd player. Back to doing the walk away the pounds videos.

Oh what a day I had! It was bakalava-making day at the Greek Orthodox Church. We made 75 pans for the festival that's happening this weekend. I was on my feet for six hours and my lower back is aching. But I came home and napped a little and feel much better now.

I hadn't slept much last night, so I worked more slowly than usual. And lack of sleep always leads to overeating. I guess today wasn't a fast day on the Greek calendar, and the luncheon that was served seemed to be comprised of nearly every form of refined carbs that could be found. I am not concise on the calorie counts at all, but I did fill my plate with a good bit of braised green beans and broccoli salad. The only meat on the table was stuck to pasta and cheese. I have to say, I could have done worse, and I think I stayed under budget on the calories. Tonight I made myself a gazpacho in my NutriBullet and had it with two hard-cooked eggs. Just waiting out the sun so I can go to bed.

No workout tonight. The studio is closed, and the day on my feet was enough. I'm really tired! It was a fun day. I'll be really preoccupied with the festival for the next week, so you won't see me here much. Not till next Monday. So I'll say it now, have a great week!

Summer is over and it's time for me to get back to healthy eating. Summer is a very social (read food) time for us. We have a little over 3 months until vacation and I need to feel better and find energy before then. Today my plan is to get all my water in!

Stay strong!

Mornin' Ladies,

I'm still POP. My head wanted fast food yesterday but I was able to divert my thoughts. I quickly started a load of laundry, because when you share a washer/dryer with 7 other apts you can't go out and leave your wet stuff in the washer for an hour or more and still be friends with your neighbors. By the time it was done I'd had some fruit and the head hunger had disappeared.

It's cooled down after some nasty storms and I plan to get out and get stuff done today.

I had a super productive day yesterday. I had no kids so I was able to do some deep cleaning. I started out upstairs and cleaned my daughters room. The bed has been slept in a couple of times so I changed sheets and did dusting and window frames. Its amazing how much dust can gather when a room isnt being used. I then moved my way down the hall doing baseboards and getting down a few cob webs. I swear they werent there a week ago. I then moved on downstairs and did some more deep cleaning that no one can see but I know its done. I worked up many good sweats.
Im hoping to be able to clean a cabinet or two today but Im back to having kids so we will see.
Scales say 235 but I know it will go back up so Im not lowering my avatar just yet. Calories were great yesterday but the bulk of my food was at dinner time so I will work on eating less at dinner.
I got all my water in yesterday.

Judy - I hate it when my head wants something! Great job!

As for me my goal yesterday was to get all my water in - baby steps. I actually had a POP day and will try to make it another one today.

Stay strong!

I was on target with calories but higher in carbs than i like. So I will try and watch that today. I know we are eating at Mcdonalds for dinner so I will plan it into my day.
I didnt get any real exercise yesterday... will try again today.

I'm still POP but only because WW is generous and i've been careful with my extra points. My choices were awful. I'm going out to dinner w/friends and yesterday put a limit on my choices for tonight. It's going to be an "I'll have this but put this part on the side, leave off this and I'd like a to go box when you bring my dinner" kind of night. Weighing in tomorrow. It'll put a cramp on my dinner which probably is a good thing.
