Default Howdy Everyone!

Hi there my name is Courtnay . I'm a new mom and I've been struggling with my weight since gr.4. I have been on countless diets and some would work then I'd get back into my old habits and gain it all back plus some. The yoyo diet has been happening for a long time and I'm so tired of it. I tend to emotionally eat and find myself sometimes binge eating for no reason. I honestly hate my weight and I'm so stuck. A few years back I lost the most weight I ever lost and it was 65lbs and over 50 inches I still had weight to lose but I felt so amazing and I really miss that. I ended up not being able to afford a trainer no more and I slowly again got into my old habits and when I got pregnant I gained it all back and now I'm back at square one. What I found really helped me before was having support from others going through the same thing as me. I found having people cheering me on helped immensely! So folks I'm here for that support and I'm here to supports others as well as I know how hard it is to lose weight. If only losing weight was as easy as putting it on haha. As a new mom I owe it not only to myself but to my son to give him a healthy lifestyle right from the start. I do not want my son having the same unhealthy bad habits I did. I'm sick and tired of feeling crummy all the time and trying to lose weight for a few days then giving up! I got a lot of weight to lose and I know its going to be tough but I just can't be like this no more. I have clothes from a few years back that I want to fit into again and I know I will! So healthy me here I come!!

Thank you so much! Great job by the way!! Your doing amazing . Its so hard for me cause being big I'm nervous to work out in front of others and I don't have any cash flow to spend towards a personal trainer again so I'm kind of lost where to begin.

I hate spending money and letting people see my fat self "run" so I haven't joined a gym yet and have found other ways to stay active (I walk with my mom in her neighborhood, hike at a state park with a friend, walk up and down our long/steep driveway over and over, jog on a treadmill I bought off craigslist, etc). Maybe you can find something else exercise wise that works for you (like go walking before work when others in your neighborhood maybe aren't out, do an exercise DVD, jump rope/play basketball in your back yard, go walking in someone else's neighborhood or with a friend, etc.)

Hi Courtnay! Be sure to check out the sub-forum "Chicks Up for a Challenge" under Support Groups. There are lots of threads there on weight loss and exercise and they will help you to stay accountable and motivated. Good luck in your journey!

Hi, and welcome! It's been pointed out already, but "Chicks Up for a Challenge" is a great little sub-forum... I was pretty enthusiastic when I first joined and the thought of challenges? Totally made me nervous! I was like... really? No way! I can't do that sort of thing! But I've found that I can! I know you can do it as well!
