Default Fabulous 40's and then some....#143

ES!!!!
I am so sorry about your baby. I remember Bucky like it was yesterday and it has almost been 3 yrs. Hug little Susie and I know it will get better for the 2 of you. You have my deepest sympathies.

Zoe,
I'll bet you will lose with this move cause i know how hard that is. Good luck with your plateau and your beautiful home.

Hi Dianne,
Great to hear from you. The garden of the Gods is a garden with beautiful nature formed red rocks. Their are trails and you can climb on the rocks. There are people who climb the huge ones with ropes and such and there are ones that regular people and kids can climb. We walked a couple trails yesterday and climbed rocks. It is so beautiful there. Peaceful and tranquil. I'll send a picture of it soon. You can get on a website just type in Colorado Springs in the search and there will be a link. If you ever come out here go. the ride up to pikes peak is a scary ride but well worth it once you get there.

hi Ruth,Jen & Janie.

Brittany took the kids to the pool so I can relax. they heated the pool cause I think they gave up on the 'hot" sun to heat it.
I will go tomorrow. Maybe.

Terri,
it sounds as tho we're having the same weather here...and waiting for the pool to warm up! The water is up to 74 degrees, but that's godawful cold, 80 is bearable, but brisk The Garden of the Gods sounds awesome, I'm going to check it out online.

Dianne,
Jessa sounds so cute! Matt's training is off and on again...the plan is to have him finished by the end of summer. He's in total denial right now and always says he doesn't have to go, or that he didn't go!

Zoe,
hope the move goes smoothly...at least it's a good workout! I know you'll be very happy there.

Es,
how are you, sweetie? I've been thinking of you.

HI Ruth, and Janie!

Hi Girls

Jen, I'm doing better. Each day it gets a little easier. I'm doing well as far as weightloss. I think I stayed the same but my pants feel really loose today.

Terri, I remember when Bucky passed away as if it were yesterday. I've had so many offers for kittens but I don't want anymore. That's it!! Say hi to Brittany.

I have to go. I'm at work.

Till later.

Es,
I am so sorry to hear about your Kitty. I know how devistating it is to loose a pet. GIve Suzie a hug for me. Congrats on hearing the Click!!!

Terri,
Can't wait to see your pictures.

Ruth,
My class ends on 6/30. I have taken one exam so far and I think I got an A but he hasn't given us our grades back yet. He's giving us 2 exams and a presentation. It has to be done on power point. I have used power point before, but never for an interactive presentation I am really liking this program. The students are very friendly and helpful. ABout half are full time and the other half are part time like me. I am hoping that I can arrange a summer internship at the Dep of Homeland Sec. in DC for next summer.
Dianne,
I am sure that you are exhausted after working commencement. My dad always had to work commencement (He was the registrar at John Jay College), and it was such a long grueling day for him. I don't know why, but it became a tradiiton that my brother and I would watch old movies (c. 1930s) while my dad was at commencement.

Zoe,
I am sure you'll loose inches if not weight with all the bending, lifting and stretching you'll be doing. But be careful, that is how many people our age have injured themselves.

Jen,
Have you considered a solar blanket cover for your pool. My friends have one and it really works. They are a lot cheaper than a heater and they also keep all the leaves and bugs out of the pool.

to everyone,

Janie

Es,
I don't blame you. I still worry that Tanner will die and I will feel as bad as I did with Bucky and that was devastating. If we didn't have little kids I might not have gotten another one. Hug Susie for me. It gets better every day.
Brittany wanted me to give you a big hug!!!!!! She cried with you. She said she knew how you felt and she felt for you.
Here is a hug from all of us.
Congrats on the loose pants girl. Doing great.

Janie,
My fingers are crossed for you. The power point presentation sounds great. Good luck.

Jen,
They heated our pool. The kids finally got to got to the pool.
They were stoked. Britts took them and I got to read on the balcony with my tea. LOVED IT!!!!!

I have kept up working out every other day. YAY!!!!
This way it doesn't hurt as much if I eat out more.

TTYL,
Terri

Es,
that's great news about your pants Yes, it does get better, you'll remember Fluffy fondly always.

Janie,
I should have said we do have a solar cover...the pool started at 62 degrees. Living where we do, with a summer of only 3 months, it's extravagant to have the pool, but worth it! A nice week of sunny days will do the trick.
The class you're taking, and what you're becoming involved in, sounds cool; glad you're enjoying it.

Terri,
Mmm, lounging with a book in the summer is the BEST!!!
I'll bet the kids had a blast.

A good day today, very low in points, with a lean dinner planned. My foot is feeling better each week so I'm going to resume walking next week. I love early morning walks in the summer.

Thank you, my friends, for all your kind words.

Terri, you know Brit is very special to me. Tell her I send a cyber hug back to her. Today I feel much better. WTG with working out!!!

Jen, getting ready for the pool huh It was so beautiful out today that I was so tempted to take a day off & go the beach. I'm taking 2 weeks off in July. Can't wait.

Good Wednesday Morning y'all

I find that mornings are my only free time lately so here I am. Not much time but I wanted to stop in for a moment.

My eating has been bad bad bad. With all the moving each night, we go out to eat and I never make the right choices. So I am trying, starting today, to make those right choices just like before. Before the move, we would eat out and I would be good so what the HECK is different now??? Nodda..... So as they say, today is the first day of the rest....blah, blah, blah....you know the story.

Sorry I am not addressing anyone but I just wanted to stop in and say hi and tell you all that I'm still here, just lurking most of the time. I miss you all and can't wait to be back online normally......(normal? is that possible?? ha)

Have a great Wednesday you's guys.....

Love,
Patti and Zoe <><

Good morning everyone

Es,
Glad to hear you're doing better. Will you be going anywhere for your vacation? I used to love going to the beach as a kid, my mom would pack all 6 of us into the station wagon and we'd spend the day there when my dad was at the firehouse. She had the patience of a saint

Zoe,
Moving brings with it a huge upheaval in your life...that's why you're eating out of the norm! You know when things are settled it will be easier to get back OP. Is it just you and Greg in that big house? Our home is small, I don't know what I'd do with all that room!

I'm feeling very good this week about the way I've been eating. Just trying to use a common sense approach, and make it a lifestyle. Only 3 meals, if I have a snack it's veggies or fruit, and water. I know how helpful journalling is, but find myself thinking about food, writing about food, counting food, etc.......
So, I'll see how it goes.

What's everyone doing for Father's Day? Joe hasn't said what he wants to do....we'll most likely be home and bbq with the kids....hopefully we can take our first dip. Last year's first swim, with temps in the 90's, was on June 6. Still waiting, somewhat impatiently, for that to happen this year!

HI Terri, Dianne, Janie, Ruth

Jen,
What a wonderful memory. I am sooo glad your foot is feeling better. Great food wise too. Hope you can dip soon.
For Father's Day I think we are taking a train ride around the Royal Gorge along the Colorado River. We were supposed to do that last year but we got called home for my dad.

Es,
Brittany just loves you. She is so glad you are starting to feel better. My sister's youngest yorkie has epilepsy. Georgie is 3 yrs. old. I told her our chihuahua had it and he lived to be 19 yrs. old. we found out he had it when he was 6.

Zoe,
Good luck again on the move. It will settle down. It is very hard when you are moving.

Hi Ruth,Janie and Dianne

Hi everyone,

I got on the scale this morning, and am down 2 more pounds! I am very pleased with the changes I've been making.

Today is our 32nd wedding anniversary I absolutely cannot believe it's been that many years, it seems like yesterday. We're going downtown (Chicago) on Saturday to a murder mystery dinner as an anniversary night out; today we'll probably stay home and put something on the grill.

CONGRATULATIONS JEN & JOE!!!!!!!
32 years WOW!!!!!!!!!! HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!
Congrats also on the 2 pounds girl. What a gift.
Keep it up.
We don't have a scale here so I am being more careful because of it. Hope I at least stay the same. I opted not to get one. feels weird. Mine is at home waiting for me.
Have a grerat time tonight and this weekend.
My mom and dad's 50th is on the 20th. They won't do anything special cause he can't really go anywhere. I can't wait to buy a Golden Wedding Ann. present.
TTYL,
Terri

Terri,
That is so great about your parents celebrating their 50th...what a milestone. My best to them.

You wouldn't believe the scale I use it's a balance beam type one that is an antique...Joe picked it up years ago, it's so large we have to keep it in the garage..no, not that I weigh that much! ...there's a hanging tray that you place the weights on. They are like cast iron discs. It's comical, I'm going out there (our garage is not attached) in all types of weather, then stripping off shoes, etc. to weigh!
I don't see a need to purchase one to have in the house, as it's very accurate, just not convenient. the gif I attached is the same type, but much newer...ours is about 75 yrs. old

I'm sure you'll be so active out there that you won't see a drastic change in your weight. You've done so well at maintaining!

later,
~Jen
