Monday Morning WI 174.6 Up 1.4lbs I'm guessing that's last night steak dinner

Diana I didn't actually fall...amazingly enough. I was walking and my right leg slipped, just a tad. That's why I continued on, further away from my car. I was in the shoe isle at Target and I stepped forward and pain instantly shot up then crushed down like never before. Usually when it goes, it's knife like pain in the hip, pubic area and my right glute which has the dead muscle...I think the odd pulling on the ligaments pull at that muscle which can't fight back whatever the case it hurts...but this time, and here I think was my warning, I had crushing pain all the way to my toes...like I got crushed with a roller machine...that has never happened...it was like I had no bones left. But I popped it back in easy enough...the first time. I said let's get home before it gets worse cuz I had no cane with me and DD can't drive. I should have called an ambulance, but I'm mull headed. I got to the car fine, but the moment I bent at the hips to sit, the leg came all the way out. I screamed like I was dying and DD had to help get the leg in. We put it foot down under the gas so it couldn't move then while screaming and using my other leg I shifted and shifted until it was in enough that I could move my foot again...we got home using back roads. I screamed getting upstairs on my deck all the way to sitting down on my couch where I stayed until the Vicodin kicked in...then DD helped me upstairs where I've been until yesterday. We went out last night and I tripped several times so I am very weary today and won't be going out until Friday when I have therapy...geeze, I hope I'll be able to find a parking spot close by. And that's my hip story

It's laundry day, I'm out of bras of all things. Can not go without that I'll do rewrites as well. I got a fan on Wattpad (where I've been posting my novel) I'm very excited, LOL. My DH is reading it off the site instead of here at home and when I'm chatting up DD about it he sings LALALALA while holding his ears...I'm of course wrapping it up while he's just getting started. It's cool knowing someone out there is reading it

Have a wonderful and healthy day.

Diana - thanks for starting the new thread

Mamakat - wow, that sounds exceptionally painful and frustrating.

I'm on day 2 of calorie counting. Myfitnesspal indicated yesterday that I was below my calorie goal even before adding in the extra that it gives for the activity that I did yesterday. It also said if I ate like that everyday I will lose about 10 pounds over 5 weeks. The interesting part is that I do eat like that every day (except cheat day), I didn't change anything about what I was eating, I just documented every single thing that I ate for the whole day. I'm interested to see what it shows when I document "cheat day" on Saturday - I think I may be overdoing it a bit there, but still I would expect the scale to move a little. Oh well, my first follow up measurement day is this Friday (shooting for every 2 weeks) so we'll see what happens.

Yesterday's calories = uknown/too much. Morning WI = 149.8 (no change from yesterday, so damage was minimal).

Diana - Thanks for starting the new thread! We don't do any traditional dinner for New Year's, but we do watch a funny short every year called "Dinner for One". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lzQxjGL9S0 It's tradition in Germany to watch it on New Year's Eve and since DH and I both have German blood we thought we'd adopt the tradition for ourselves

pluckypear - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Sounds like you have a nice dinner planned.

mamakat - That's cool that someone is reading your novel!

bunnabear - What is your caloric intake goal?

I started feeling like crap last night and the feeling hasn't gone away. Headache, sore throat, runny nose, yuck! We had plans to go over to our friends' house today but I had to cancel (not only do I not feel good but I don't want to get their kids sick). Well, I've exceeded my son's patience he's in need of some mommy time right about now. I'm off!

Diana Yes it is my birthday and thankyou. I do not have a traditional New Year's Eve dinner. I usually have someone cook my choice of a meal as it is my birthday.

Cateyed The Farmet's Market I attend is year long. It us outside in summer and fall then inside for spring and winter. In winter they will have root veg and apples. There is always cheese, butter, eggs, baked goods, pickles, meat etc. There are no stupid questions. I learned something new. I saw kale with snow on it and asked the farmer about it. It still grows, slowly, but lives under snow. The kale is sweeter now then in summer, it will eventually stop in a long cold spell. I got some black kale and it was yummy. I love kale anyway. Most of the Farmer's Markets are closed here but we have 2 that I know of opened year long.
The one I go to only allows organic, Eco conscious etc. Farmers. I got apples, pears, cheese, steak, sausages, onions, mushrooms, butternut squash, napa, carrots, and a empenada. And kale. Lots of kale.

DH is making me breakfast while I have coffee. I plan on reading and caring for me today. I have therapy later this afternoon.

Be well!

Missy Krissy - Below is what it set up for me for a goal of losing 1 pound/week. Of course it adds calories when you work out. My BMR is 1,830 per day and they deducted 500/day to reach the weight loss goal.

Net Calories Consumed* / Day
1,330 calories/day

Carbs / Day
183 g

Fat / Day
44 g

Protein / Day
50 g

Yesterday I took in 1,485 and my goal after entering exercise was 1,907 (1,330 which is calculated with the 500 deficit goal plus the 577 that I burned in exercise) so I ended up with a deficit of 422 plus the 500 already built into my goal for a total deficit of 922 calories. So I should lose close to 2 pounds per week at that rate.

Happy New Year everyone!

Making Chicken Marsala for dinner, with garlic string beans. I make the sauce with almost no fat, just a bit of olive oil, which I need to reach my fat intake for the day.

Still haven't counted calories these past few days. I know I'm not over eating, but I am afraid I'm under eating. I really need to get back on the counting track.
