So I was on the Metro yesterday (on my way to a karaoke party) and I decided to sit down and I fit into my seat! I was even able to keep my arms at my sides without spilling into the seat next to me. Usually I would keep my arms crossed across my chest as to keep them from taking up more space. I have avoided sitting next to people on the metro for so long that I didn't even realize that I can fit in the seat now!
Also, I sang Adele's Rolling in the Deep at karaoke. What I lacked in singing ability, I more than made up for with enthusiasm.
I feel your pain on this one! I want to enjoy the train/metro system next time I'm on board. I think one of the most humiliating things that happened to me recently that made me realize I am not ok is I was doing an engagement shoot for an old friend of mine. They decided they wanted to have their photographs taken at the country club they visit often. Well, needless to say we took a golf cart and I took up the majority of the seat. In fact, I think I took up more room than them put together. Embarrassing.
Congratulations on your victory though! Now you get to start feeling comfortable!
Congratulations! On both the seat fitting and the Karaoke!
I am still uncomfortable in seats on the bus and train. So if there are lots of people on board I will stand. Can't wait until I can sit without hip spillage and chunky arm overlap.
