Default Scared to eat?

Hello all. I know it's been quite some time since I've posted, but in the time i've been gone i've lost about 10 lbs, and even better 9" off my body, including 4" off my waist (It curves now! ) So, anyways, today is the last day of a 10 day detox me and my boyfriend have done. Let me tell you, I feel AMAZING. I have more energy, my cravings are under control. Its just wonderful. We've been only ingesting our own juiced veggie/fruit mixes. It's really done wonders. Well, today is day 10, and tomorrow we'll get back to eating raw whole veggies, and work our way to other foods. Now, i've had this really big fear of eating :P We have a plan for a whole new diet, but I feel that...if I eat, i'm going to blow back up again. I'm still 15 lbs from my GW, and I don't want to back track. I'm just having this building anxiety that all this weight is going to come back that i've worked so hard to lose, and that i'm just going to lose control and fail again. I almost would rather just keep fasting for another 10 days. Ugh....I don't really know the point of this. I'm just scared..

This, among many other reasons, make cleanses a bad idea. It isn't sustainable weight loss and involves almost no actual fat loss, so scale rebound is severe. It also doesn't encourage any sort of maintainable habits or healthy relationship with food. What they can be good for has less to do with weight and more to do with allergies and gut health.

Take a deep breath and go back to a healthy eating plan, one you can stick with long term. Stay off the scale for a few weeks. Slow, steady, and maintainable for YOUR lifestyle is what wins this race long term.

What Arctic Mama said. Aside from this "cleanse" what else have you done/are you doing to lose weight?

Let's say you kept juice fasting for another 10 days -- then what? I would venture that you aren't planning to never eat solid food again.

Remember that if you take drastic, temporary measures, you'll only get temporary results. It's great your boyfriend is motivated with you to re-think your diet. Hopefully together the two of you can come up with a healthy and sustainable plan for eating that supports your goals - and that fits your life for the long-run.

"Hey..I have an idea. Let's drink nothing but juice or coffee the rest of our lives. Sounds awesome! Yea..awesome!"

Except it doesn't. Cleanses are great short term..and excellent for medical procedures. But what they do is cleanse you for..here it comes..

Eating healthy.

All that processed food? Gone. Carrots are your friend now. Fast food? Nope. Say hello to organic chicken.

So eat and eat WELL. Enjoy food, it'll be with you the rest of your life.

OK, you're going to gain weight when you start eating again. So wait one week to weigh yourself, to stabilize.

This is one reason why I do not do any detox: you are not losing fats.
