I took a lot of the summer off for traveling. I actually found it fairly easy to get back on plan because for me I just decided to get it done by Thanksgiving (hopefully). Also I have been on IP since last fall, so getting back on the wagon felt like second nature to me. I also decided to set small goals for myself on the amount I still want to lose. Rather than losing 30 more pounds, I want to lose 10 pounds three more times. Truthfully the challenge is all in your head, and you have TOTAL control. See yourself at goal and know the food will wait for you to be done. See the finish line; you can do it.

I agree with Dana, I think it's all about goals. The pain of not reaching your goal has to be the thing that motivates you. I have a mini goal for Thanksgiving- though I will not be at my true goal weight by then, I want to lose as much as possible because it will be the first time we see my husband's family since we started IP. I would love for both of us to walk through the door and get that big reaction from everyone. When I start to lose steam, I focus on that, and then I focus on how disappointed I will be if it doesn't happen.

I was traveling last weekend and did fall off the wagon however I've been back on since Tuesday and feel great. It may be hard but with a little focus and encouragement you can do it!

I know exactly how you feel. I had a great summer on IP as well - I went to weddings, work events, BBQ's, etc. and stayed 100% OP. But lately I have been falling off the wagon. I am also very close to my goal but just can't seem to get my head straight.

I had a talk with my coach last night and she just encouraged me to keep going until I am happy. I know I am not in the right mindset to stop IP right now. I need to get to where I want to be and phase off properly. Just keep thinking about all the work you already put in and how you don't want that to go to waste. Just buck up and do it. You are so worth it!

Hello barri1970 and everyone,

Why don't you join us at our group of re-starters where we all encourage each other, here is the link:

I know personally, I am not doing well, and re-starting has been very hard for me, nevertheless I keep on trying.

I think once you are close to goal it is really hard to stay motivated. Some days are easier than other days.

I so needed this thread. I've been falling off for a while now. I am *so* close to my goal. I like the idea of thinking about how I will be so disappointed if I don't make my goal.

I've been struggling too since going on vacation in August and letting loose a little. Though I only gained one pound it sure seems harder now to be 100%.
I'm also struggling with feeling good where I'm at but knowing my fat face needs another 10 pounds off to look better.
My coach and I decided I'm going to stick to Phase 1 through September and I'm going to try to start adding in some weight lifting and see where I'm at come October 1. I am going to Phase 2 for one week then and Phase 3 for two weeks and then maintenance when I go on my trip to California for a conference in October.
I like having a plan so I can sort of see the end of Phase 1.
It sure is nice to have clothes I never thought I would ever wear again be LOOSE! I need to go shopping to get some extra motivation too I think !
