Hi, I am fairly new to this program, 5 weeks in. Does anyone else notice that they get cold faster? I was one of those people who was always hot....and now I am very comfortable when everyone else is hot. I am sure less "insulation" is part of it....but does the ketones have anything to do with it? I am not complaining....it is a nice change! Have a great day fellow IPers!

Hi there, happy! I am just like you, always hot. But I am cold now. Yep. Its losing weight- and hormone balance perhaps of being on this diet. The pancreas is calm, and the hormones often are. After awhile, you wear more clothes, or get used to it.
Frankly, its sometimes a nice change from being hot.
Glad to have you here, this is a very encouraging place to diet!

Good morning everyone. My husband and I just came back from a vacay in Door County (the thumb in Wisconsin) for 6 days for some much needed time off. My husband is a farmer and works 7 days a week and I run my own business so our vacations are few. Happy to say I stayed OP the whole time. We had kitchens in our rooms, I took my packets and we packed lunches for our outings. It was a different vacation up there this time as usually we are doing some wine tasting at the wineries, tasting all the yummy foods at the markets (which my husband still did), buying bags of chocolate covered cherries and eating them all week etc. So I told my husband I wanted to do more things as he is usually content just hanging out but he was a trooper. I got my daily walks in, we went hiking in parks, we did a 4 1/2 mile bike ride, we went kayaking and paddle boating. It was great!

I missed my weigh in on Monday since we were gone but from my new scale at home it's looking pretty good so I'm excited for this Monday.

One problem I am having is leg cramps again. It started on vacation. I forgot my evening vitamins a couple nights which includes my potassium and I had a cramp one morning and my calf muscle was sore for a couple days. I have been taking extra potassium, drinking a good amount of water, getting my salt in, drinking a little pickle juice and I have still been cramping. Any suggestions?

I kept reading the forum on vacation as it is a new addiction of mine. Congrats to everyone on their losses and good luck on the diet. It works! I think I am going to post a couple pictures soon. I have really been getting the comments at work now from my clients!

Have a great day everyone!

Hello Happy - I really struggled last winter with the cold. My doc says it's because the layer of fat around my middle is (mostly) gone. I'm in in maintenance now and hope this goes away eventually... Congrats on your progress !!!

Hello Big Daddy - I was on 3 blood pressure meds and dropped them all, the last one being dropped after I passed out, so it's something to keep an eye on.

----

Good morning everybody ! Rise and shine !

It is so cold this morning, around 55, that my muscles are stiff and aching! I dread winter... I'm going to take my walk in a minute and my hands are so cold I want to wear gloves, in August!!!

Hope you all have wonderful Fridays and are planning something nice for the weekend. I congratulate all of you on the life-changing choice you made, and are making, everyday, to ensure your future health by losing the weight. It's all good !!!

Margaret

Yes, absolutely! I was the girl that never wears a coat even when temps in Wisconsin start dropping. I don't even own a winter jacket! I am chilly all of the time. Even now, I am tucked under a blanket, drinking coffee, reading on here. It is certainly a nice change!

Sounds like a great week! OP and relaxing! Door County is wonderful, huh? We usually go every summer, but decided to skip this year because of all the little wineries that I so love to visit!

Awesome job!

So the end result of me walking yesterday morning was....me passed out hard on the couch as soon as the kiddos went to bed I think I will try adding an extra packet after walking instead of just the hard boiled egg, it may not have been enough! It stinks because I completely slept through having my evening snack/vitamins. Fortunately that's not the norm, and I'm having breakfast early today with an added egg since it was so long between meals.

I had a little time this morning to catch up on yesterday's thread...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMPATTIE! And I hope Meadow has a wonderful day at Ren fair in her hot corset! We wanted so badly to go to the local King Richard's Faire but this year tickets are crazy expensive - $25 a person even for the kids! There are a few other smaller faires that we may check out instead.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Me tooooooooooooooo! That is actually the hardest part for me with this diet. I don't mean to sound like I over indulge, but boy do I miss my wine!

Good morning TGIF! I was the "hotflash queen" until IP, now I am wrapped up on a blanket or sitting at my desk in a sweater. It is great, my bangs used to be plastered to my forehead (not a pretty site), now it is great, good hair days!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, welcome to the newbies, good luck on all the WIs.
