Thanks, that does make me feel a lot better. I've only just started my journey and everything is a little daunting... but i'm brimming with excitement too!!! lol just gotta tackle it head on.
I'm exactly the same, I wait for everyone to go to bed before I exercise! Which usually means I'm tired in the morning but at least I know that one day I will be able to feel ok working out in front of them
This has to be the main reason I don't exercise enough
I try to go for a 20mins jog and as I live on campus atm, there's usually someone around. I just can't shake the feeling that they're staring at this overweight, sweaty girl who's obviously out of shape I think I mainly go for walks now. Hopefully my confidence will boost as i get fitter and I will be able to run with confidence
I don't let my family in the room (although my kids sometimes con their way in). I close the door AND cut the light off AND put pictures face down (why, who knows???) Then, I get my work out on!!!!
This is the main reason I jog at 6.30am, the number of people who see me are far far fewer, and most of those are still half asleep walking their dogs anyway!
As for workout DVD in front of people? Not a chance! If they join in fair enough, but just to have them sitting there watching, that's just weird to me. Why on earth would they want to?!
I would do sit ups/ press ups/arm toning stuff in the same room as others with the tele on, that way I'm not the main focus, they're just watching TV. But anything else, nope!
I have no problem doing my time on my exercise bike in front of him, but I'm not sure how I feel about doing workout DVDs yet. I've just ordered the 30 Day Shred video, so I might do it in front of him, or might just do it upstairs for the first few days to see how I get on!
