Default Beach Chat - Friday, March 16

Do I dare start the St. Patrick's Day celebration a bit early with some Irish Cream in the coffee? Better not as I am off to the gym and the Village would be shocked if I got a DWI. (I am wearing a paddy green t-shirt with my gym pants this morning which has put me in the "mood" a day early.)

Disney is back to normal after yesterday's major barfing performance. The biggest problem we have at the moment is muddy paws. She comes in looking like she is wearing brown boots since most of the dog yard is flooded. Jazz runs right through it and washes his paws but D. takes the (muddy) high road around. I guess she saw enough water during Katrina.

After gym this morning, I'll check in with the group at the Diner and get caught up on the Village news. This warm weather will probably put an end to the maple syrup production - below freezing nights are needed - but the lads will be talking spring ploughing. We've had record breaking temperatures this month but also know we've had some of our biggest snowstorms at the end of March! In the meantime, I'm enjoying this!

Sheesh! I must be getting old if I start just babbling about the weather. Time for another coffee WITHOUT the Irish Cream. I'll save that for tomorrow when I plan to plant my peas.

What's happening on your piece of the strand this TGIF?

Mmmmmmm, a bit of Bailey's in my coffee would be heavenly. But I'll save it for tomorrow, when I'll allow myself a bit of celebration.

I'm very happy to hear Disney is feeling better, Ruth. One of Cindy's dog's always gets sick when he drinks muddy water. Do you think that's what she got into? I'd love to be joining you and your gang at the Diner this morning. Give them all my regards.

It's a rainy day here, today. Since I'm being exiled the rest of the weekend, I'll stop in for a visit with Mom & Dad and swing by the grocery store for some easy meals for the guys to throw together, and I may stop by the Goodwill store to see what treasures they have. I had a lousy night's sleep, and it would be nice to catch a nap this afternoon, but I doubt that will happen.

Good Morning chicks!

Ruth, sorry to hear of Disney's barfing! Muddy paws are a mess for everyone aren't they. Hope she is all better. Yes I talked to a man who sugars, and it is not looking good for their production this year. Hope you get your peas planted. Oh and I think we all can't help but talk about the weather, it's not an age thing!

Linda, sorry you had a lousy night! Hope you get a nice nap after your to-do list today You've having remodeling done, that's why you're in exile?

Yesterday I did more kitchen cleaning/trim painting, looks so much fresher and better. AND, thanks for everyone's wishes for me, that I DID get my first ride on my motorcycle of the year! Just about 45 minutes but it was great. Then I got my front tire stuck in the mud in our driveway and had to have older son help me out, lol. Sure wish we had a paved driveway. Oh well!

And I achieved my first goal of weightloss, that when I put on my leather chaps, the thighs were LOOSE compared to in January, when we were in Arizona and those chaps were TIGHT on my ample thighs I am down 10 pounds in about 42 days on SB, and some inches. Woohoo!

Hope everyone has a great day

Good Morning

I've got most of the house put back together after yesterday's purge and I'll try and finish up before heading to Denver w/mom. She has an all day meeting and DH doesn't want to go (I offered) so I'll have the entire day by myself to catch up on my errands.

It's supposed to be 78 degrees in Denver today...I'm wondering if I should take my bike?

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

Ruth - My husband's recent ancestry research confirmed he is Irish. I asked a few days ago if that means he'll be celebrating this year.

Linda - I hope you get your nap in. I think I'll try for one today too.

Holly - Woo hoo!

Debbie - Yes - ride!

It's going to be another warm one here too. I have the house to myself all evening; DH, DS and BIL are heading to Omaha to watch basketball. I might make a trip to the mall today; the warm weather reminds me that I really could use some new t-shirts. Anyone read The Hunger Games? I thought about getting that and checking out all the buzz.

Holly, congratulations on the loose chaps! Yes, Jake and Dustin are exiling the rest of us from the house this weekend so they can pull out the toilet to put the new flooring down, and finish up the remodeling. It will be nice to have that project done!

Debbie, how nice to have an entire day to yourself while your mother is in her meeting! I'm enjoying Survivor too, although it's always hard for me to get used to the new contestants.

Good morning, Karen. You snuck in while I was posting! I'm not familiar with The Hunger Games, except to know it's something I'm not interested in. I've always been told that everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day.
