Default Need some breakfast suggestions, please!

I've been doing lowfat for so long, that it seemed like a treat to be able to eat eggs for breakfast again...but after a whole week of them (first week of Atkins' induction), I'm tired of them.

Can anyone suggest something else low-carb for breakfast? I'm going ahead and having oatmeal this morning...not the instant kind, but real oatmeal, which has 23 net carbs. Basically blows my whole carb budget on breakfast but at least it's not eggs!

Thanks in advance for any advice...

The egg thing definately got to me too, but I am still eating them! We just try to eat them in different ways... Sometimes hard boiled can be a nice departure from fried...

Sorry I don't have better advice... I am sure someone will come along with better advice...

Oh yeah, and some companies make LC breakfast items like muffins and pancake mix, but on induction those can stall some people, like me, so use them sparingly!

jane!! gina!!! have you checked out the recipe thread? there are some great ideas there, including sue's [nasus40] recipe for ricotta pancakes, which have alway ssounded yummy to me, except that i'd actually ahve to COOK them, which isn't happening.

as for the egg thing, yes. it can get boring. i make deviled eggs. and dottie john makes these little breakfast muffins with eggs, cheese, and sausage, and freezes them for a quick grab breakfast.

egg custards are ok too.

i just tried those meatless, fake veggie sausage patties for the first time. and they were better than expected. a little cheese on top and it was a nice change from eggs.

oh. you can also add some protein powder to the oatmeal.

let's see... also leftover chicken. any kind of meat. ham n cream cheese rollups. smoked salmon [pricy, but a nice treat].

i've also found a high-protein, lentil-based pasta that's pretty decent.

oh. and cinnamon and splenda [if you're not sensitive to sweeteners] mixed into cottage cheese is a nice treat too. but there are carbs in cottage cheese, so you might not be able to have this on induction.

Can someone re-post, or point me to the recipe for muffins w/egg, sausage and cheese? I searched recipes but didn't find anything. I did find a recipe for pancakes, but it wasn't made with ricotta cheese, but eggs and cream cheese. If there is another one, I'd like to see it.

Can anyone recommend brands of very low carb bread or cereal? I searched the shelves at my grocery store yesterday and couldn't find a thing that was low enough...

Thanks, all!

Dottie found her recipe. It is in the Recipe Section under Miscellaneous and is called Breakfast Muffins. Thanks, Dottie!
