Default Just started:Sweets oh please

Good morning all, from a long time lurker. Just started on Mon. and as of 10:00am this morning, I could kill yes kill for something sweet! How long will this last?! I am taking it 1 hour at a time, believe it or not, by telling myself that if I last for 1 more hour, I can have something sweet. So far, each hour, I talk myself out of it, but I don't know how much longer I can hold on. The jello isn't getting it, ya know? On induction, can I have some of the 'fluff'? Oh please say yes.
And it it soooo nice to meet all of you....been here a long time and you all sound so nice (and just a wee bit crazy)....thank you.
Janny

Thank you so much!! How does a bathtub full of water sound? I had my 2 egg with cheese scrambled eggs and 3 slices of bacon, and more water than I thought that a body could hold, and maybe just maybe that will get me through the next few hours. This sweet craving is awful....luckily I am alone and will not make anyone mad by being in such a 'snappy' mood. Thanks again, from a full Janny

Welcome Janny!

I usually have to struggle for the first 3 days and then it gets easier and easier.

So be strong! You can do it.

Hang in there girl! Unfortunately, there are not many sweet options during induction. Also, sounds as if your addiction is to sugar. Giving in the sweet craving, even with something legal, can stall your weightloss and prolong the addiction. It will subside, just hang in there. My addiction wasn't to sweets as much as it was pasta, bread and potatos. SF Jello can stall some people, so be aware. Here are some legal options:

Diet Rite - 0 carbs

coffee or tea sweeted with spenda or sweet & low (1 carb per packet, no more that 3 per day) A tip - use liquid - 0 carbs!

sweeten some cream cheese, use sweetner or a flavored syrup, I think DaVinci's are the best.

There is a recipe for cheesecake (Beachgirls Basic) 1/2 serving is legal on induction...I think a whole piece would be too much. You can also cut corners! If you replace the slenda with DaVanci syrup (I used vanilla), you lower the carb count by 24 carbs!

PS: Try to stay away from Atkins bars and shakes, it stalls most who have used it during induction (including me )

Hope this helps

The girls are right on the $ Janny. The first few days can be hard. My second day I would have given my first born for a piece of cheescake! Drink water until you think you will pop. I am one of the folks who can't have any aspartame and will eat sweetened cream cheese for a fix, just like Ellie suggested.
It will get better. I locked myself in my room on day two and slept most of day three away. Those around you who love you will bear with the cravings. This WOE really does show us how addicted we are to all the white stuff-pasta,potatoe, bread etc!!
Also have lots of cooked meats, cut up cheese, devilled eggs, etc. cut up and ready to eat in the fridge so when you feel hungry there is no prep work. It makes the temptation to grab something not on the list easier to resist.

Default I'm in induction too....

Trying Atkins for first time.... this feels so weird! I have been counting fat grams and calories for so long that I cringe when I put my food into fitday...lordy, if this works it will be amazing.

I miss my snacks! I miss fruit and my goldfish crackers!

Question: are pork skins ok during induction phase?

thanks!

Jane - They sure are! Pork Rinds are okay for induction. If you get flavored ones be sure to check the igredients but all the ones I found have been ok, even the BBQ ones. If you can find plain ones you can drizzle butter over them and sprinkle some cinnamon mixed with spenda for a sweet treat ( forgot about that one )
