Honey, I'm so sorry to hear that, but you wrote it explains a lot. I'm hypo, so the opposite side of the coin. My hubby was tested for hyper b/c he had tachachardia (spelling??) and a few years later (last winter actually) got a lyme disease diagnosis (is currently much better but wowsers was that a hard time).
So right now you probably have more questions than answers and on the one hand are a little scared and on the other somewhat relieved, having suspected something (I'm paraphrasing you). I'm assuming you'll have some testing done to confirm and also rule stuff out. I don't know how calories affect the thyroid hormones or contributed to your situation, but you'll become your own best advocate after consulting with your doctor(s).
