Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you are all ready for a great weekend, as I certainly am. Since its so cold out I plan on doing some redecorating in the house, and boy does it need it. That would be the most of my weekend, but I am looking forward to it. I went to the rag shop yesterday and got some material for my hallway curtain and they had the prettiest wreath. Of course I bought it and will hang it in my foyer, just to make it cheery looking. Its got soft pinks, purples and creams in it...

My boss is out today, so I can get alot of stuff done w/out being interupted every 5 minutes yahoooie. Its like I can breath again.

I need music, its to quiet here......

Does anyone like Josh Groban... I just got one of his CD's
THANKS LINNY!! That kid has an incrediable voice WOW !!!!

TTYL, Love Leenie

Good Morning Chickadees!

Leen - that fellow has a beautiful voice doesn't he. I don't have his cd but I have heard him on Oprah and some other things. Can't believe he is so young. Glad the boss is away and you are YOUR boss today! :-)

I took the day off from exercise - no excuses - no quilt - just took it off. Tomorrow morning I will do a 3 mile walk tape since I don't have to spend my day cleaning.

My boss is out of town today too - I have lots to do - payroll and bills and all that jazz - but I think I will have the office to myself most of the day - yea! Right now I'm enjoying having the coffee pot to myself. It was below 20 at my house this morning. Don't know what it is with the windchill, but the sun is shining and it is beautiful. I am so glad I don't have to work outside in the cold like these guys do.

I hope everybody has a great day!

later gaters,
Cathy

Hello everyone!

I just got an email saying that my new bread machine was shipped. Am so excited as my present one is limping along. The new one has all the bells and whistles and is supposed to make whole wheat bread.

DH made me chuckle last night when I asked him for suggestions for supper tonight. He started out by assuring me that I am a wonderful cook but he was dying for some KFC. Who am I to argue!? I said "Sure"! Only problem is that I love the gravy and we all know it is chuck full of sodium and fat. I'll be careful of how much I eat...that sodium does terrible things to me.

Have a good weekend now.........

Good morning everyone,

What a morning!!!! It snowed all night & it looks like it is going to snow all day.....plus....it snowed about 24 hours the day before. DH & I were up early.....at 6:15 this morning....we went to a birthday breakfast for a friend.....the roads are terrible....then he took me to light therapy......what a sweetie...DH.

The snow was so deep....when he let the dog out to pee....he wouldn't go....so he came in the car.....when we got home 2 1/2 hours later....he went & peed outside.....they don't like to do it in the snow.

Leenie.....what is a rag shop?......never heard of that.

It's -12C today....brrrrrr.....cold.

See you later.

Oh April, that reminds me of a Yorkie story. When we lived in the city we had two Yorkies. One day, it snowed a lot. Well, Buttons had to go so I opened the door to the deck. He took one look at the snow, turned around and took a dump in the laundry room. You know, I didn't blame him a bit

Good afternoon all!

Not to much going on here today but being cold. I am not dealing with this weather very well. I am such a whimp.

I am leaving at 2:30 today so that is a plus. Joe will be home tonight so I don't have to snuggle up to the cats for warmth tonight. They really don't help to much.

I think Joe has gotten the sushi bug. That is all he wants to eat know. In the past 2 weeks we have had it 4 times. It is a shmae that I can't make it at home. I think that would be a little messy.

Tippy......I laughed when I read the story about the Yorkies.....I have a sister who has 2 yorkies....they are Emma & Hanna.

DH is going to clear the spot where he goes.....we are lucky......he goes in 1 spot in the back yard....at the back behind some bushes.

The snow has stopped......DH is outside using the snowblower....on our driveway & the neighbors on either side of us.

Default Morning

Hi Ladies

Aren't we all glad it is Friday? YAY. I know I am. This weekend is going to be another busy one. Church stuff will take most of Sunday up. I am up for re-election to the church council and part of me hopes I don't get elected. I haven't found it very interesting so far. We have a brand new pastor so hopefuly it will be getting better. Not really my choice anyway... I will go where He leads...

Kem I have made california roll sushi at home a few times and it isn't hard at all. The main thing is you need a differnt rice than normal white rice we use at home. We use long grain rice.. sushi really needs a medium or short grain rice. I found medium grain at the grocery store. This produces the sticky stuff that is part of sushi. Here is a tutorial on making california rolls http://www.stickyrice.com/sushi/tuto...tutorial1.html Yum. Now I want some!! You can make this together.. should be a lot of fun. I don't wanna make the raw fish kind at home. I think it would be way too easy to make yourself sick.

BTW it was also Sweet nagging me to come back here. She needs to get her credit as well. Thanks for those that missed me.

Happy Friday everyone.

Look at all of you beautiful ladies

April I'm sorry, when I write I some how think everyone know's what I am talking about, this is another one of my bad writing skills but I'm trying. The Rag Shop is a store where you can buy material and all sorts of craft stuff, fake flowers, yarn, frames, etc... its a great store. I noticed they are even selling candy now OY just what we don't need.

Sushi.... gag, isnt' that made w/raw fish ? sorry girls but I can't muster up the nerve to even try it. My hubby likes it to. Poor Kem. I love japanese food, especially tempora (drool). One time a friend of mine from Taiwan brought in some seaweed and octapus that was dried kinda like fruit rollups and asked me to try it.......OMG... the smell alone almost had me under the rug. I love trying new things but that didn't even have a shot

Linny, where is Miss Sweet ???? Yodelllllay heeeehooooo........
Tippy, Cathy, Cin, Meg, Marleah, Anna, Chrissy, Lizzy, booo to you too !!

Everyone, have a wonderful weekend.

Love, Leenie

Default Not always Leens

Leens, California Rolls aren't made with raw fish. I don't really care for that kind either.. I've had the raw stuff a few times and I really don't see what all the fuss is about. The calif rolls taste MUCH better IMHO

Good Afternoon Ladies,
I was thinking about turning up the heat when I just walked in the door but opened this months electric bill.WOW! I thought last months was high!

I planned on staying in all day but daughter called early needing a drive to the Drs. with one of the boys.I drove her and watched 3 boys! (she babysits).its a 30 mile round trip to her house so it kinda "shot" my day at home but.hey I am here now and the housework waited for me!

I did buy them McDonalds but managed to wait until I got back home to have lunch!Bravo for me..we are going out to a favorite Mediterranean food place tonight.we have been there twice and love it.......Kibbe,kebobs,& falafels are all in the WW book.its an interesting experience!

Tippy....I laughed when I read one fried chicken breast from KFC is 10 points but if you remove the skin its only 3......buy hey why go to KFC if you are going to remove the skin.I would order the skin and tell "em to keep the chicken! Ha!Ha!

Hope everyone has an enjoyable week-end..be careful with those Super Bowl foods.they can do some serious damage to your waistline!(all in the name of Football!)

Hi Everyone,

Glad to see everyone had a productive Friday. I had a busy one myself.

Leens...I love Josh Groban. Saw him for the first time when he was 17, he was totally unknown then. He sang a song for Roslyn Sumners (professional ice skater) while she skated in a "Tribute to Grinkov" (the skater who died of a heart attack while practicing with his wife). I was so taken by his voice that I ran to store to buy a CD, well he was so new, he didn't have one!!! Then I saw him on the Grammy's, he filled in for Andrea Boccelli, singing "The Prayer" with Celine Dion. Still NO CD!!! He finally cut one last year sometime, and in the meantime (now he is 22) has done a PBS special and has a second CD (his concert on PBS)...but it has all the songs from the first one with a couple new ones...so I was a little sad he really hasn't had a new CD in awhile. Well....can you tell I love him!!!

Cin...We love Kibbee, coussa, Tabouli, Hummus, stuffed cabbage, kabobs, etc...! In fact my mother is making Kibbee and Tabouli for Super Bowl. My aunt through marriage is Lebonese, boy can she cook!!! Hope you enjoy your dinner.

Linda...I am with you as far as the (fish) sushi. My kids love it and ask me to make it for them...as much as I love to cook...yuck!

Tippy...I have never been big on the crock pot except for Chili and Lobster Bisque, but I think you have got me curious....I just might pull it out and leave it on the counter for a week and try some of those recipies.

Sweet...I am here, where are you now?

Cathy, April, Kemp, Liz, Chrissy, Marleah and those I've missed..have a great weekend.
