Default How long did you wait to get your health checked?

I've been on IP nearly 2 months and I'm wondering if it's too soon to get my cholesterol checked to see if I can get off simvastatin. How long are others waiting to go back to the dr. to see if they can get off meds?

My doctor sent me for blood work every 3 weeks. My coach never looked at any of it. My coach wasn't working with my doctor. I was coordinating my own efforts. My doctor was skeptical of the program. She was worried about the calorie level, the ketosis and the prolonged state of being in ketosis, and she felt I already had great blood work.

She watched everything while I was losing! I regular had kidney, liver, thyroid, and adrenal functions checked while she monitored other blood values.

In the end she was amazed how much I improved. At one point I had almost no cholesterol. REALLY! Total cholesterol went to 39. She wanted to start me on medications for low cholesterol. I asked Dr Tran about that and he said not to worry the cholesterol level returns after 6 months in maintenance. ( It was at that point I went into maintenance for a year.) Today, I still have almost no triglycerides, no vldl, very little ldl, and LOTS of hdl. My total cholesterol is back in the 160s.

Anyway, it is up to you and your doctor or other professional to decide but, I would say at least every 30 pounds you should be checked.
