Happy frigid Thursday!

West Michigan was at -3 F this morning and has warmed up to a balmy 0 F! Has anyone heard of lake effect snow? Well living just east of lake Michigan tends to dump a lot of snow our way. But I'm not complaining, I love it! It is so beautiful here. We have been getting a dusting of snow for the last two weeks, just enough to give it that fresh glittery look.

I start WW at work today. I do not know how closely I will be following their points system. I will be using them mostly for motivation and weigh in accountability! Wish me luck.

Try to stay warm and op!

Good Morning everyone!

Deb, looks like you're catching the tail wind of what we've got full force. Yesterday was so cold, my house never heated above 66 degrees farenheit!

Hey taz, enjoy those days off, and yes, shut the door it's cold!

Have I mentioned it's cold lately?

Yesterday was an all round crappy day. Hmm lemme see...oh, the furnace man came and he has to disassemble the furnace becasue itis soo clogged up with stuff that we have a carbon monoxide risk, and he can't get back till Monday or Tuesday to fix it and we are under orders not to touch the furnace until he does. Got my oil, now it's just sitting there waiting to be burned.
Wood supply is dwindling fast, if it keeps this cold, we'd be lucky to get another week out of the supply we have left.

Miree is sick with a fever, she and dh were up ALL night together--dh, good guy, not too bright. If he had only asked me where the Children's Tylenol was he could have got some sleep! She full of meds now and sipping hot chocolate (don't blame her). This has thrown a monkey wrench into the rest of today's plans and possibly tomorrow's. Poor thing, she's sick as a dog and Mommy's worried about missing her gyno appointment! Bad Mommy!

As for me, the mission is to take care of Miree and keep the house together. Last night I was dead tired from everything I was doing that I just fell asleep as my head hit the pillow. I am expecting no less today.

Have a good one everyone and try to keep warm!

jenny, you snuck in on me!

Good Morning, Early Chicks.

I really need that coffee, Debkay, as I was up at 5:30 this morning. I think my internal clock is switching to spring hours! It is still dark, of course, but the Girls are glad to go out and romp. I think they run around to keep from freezing while I restart the woodstove and get their breakfast. Thanks for closing the door, Taz!

Pooky, so sorry about Miree and your furnace situation. Wish I could send you some of the many cords of wood we have hanging around. I would send you the dry stuff too.

Sherrie, I'm glad you are getting the D&C plus the snoop around procedure. That will certainly put your mind at rest. I had that about a year ago and only felt lousy for two days.

Dondar, I love the snow too but could do with slightly warmer temps! We are -17F this morning but it's snowing so it feels warmer. Good luck with WW at Work. I find NOT discussing low carb works best with some of the Leaders.

The new PC is finally up to standard! I seem to have spent the last 6 days farting around with it and the old one. Still have not got the printer and scanner connected - methinks a new one is in my future! In the meantime, I print stuff at the Office.

Yesterday DH cooked dinner and screwed it up! Burned Hungarian goulash really stinks! Not to mention that he made it with an $8 eye of the round! Even the Girls would not eat it. So....as it was way too cold to go out for dinner, we had pizza! And boy it was good! Do carbs get lower when you feed crusts to the dogs? Never mind.

Today is a busy day: doc appointment this morning re my bloodwork, eye appointment mid-afternoon and Fair Board meeting this evening. I am still on the Board, by the way, just not as Treasurer, although I seem to be financial advisor. It sure will be great to enjoy the Fair this summer instead of being holed up in the Office with mega bucks!

Would you believe I made my first protein shake this morning. I just could not face eggs so I winged it with protein powder and SF Jello. It worked well. I must run it through FitDay and then check out our recipes to see how I can improve it.

Got to get bundled up for the Doc appointment. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Good morning,
Cold here too, but Ruthie has us beat. -2f on the bank clock at 7am. it was. 1 by 8 am. I have been to curves, had a shower and a protein shake.
jIff told me to get the chocolate and add 1 tsp of sf instant chocolate pudding to it. I use 1/2 water 1/2 milk and it is a must for the blender. Not too bad. I think mine tops out at 3 or 4 carbs.

Off to do errands today including car wash and oil change. i need gas and it will be the full service place up the street. I will pay the 2 cents more a gallon to not stand out side. Then off to sears to get a few things for older boy who is in the middle of his winter growth spirt. all his pants are too short. i bought school pants ( he has to wear non jeans) at a store last year for little $ when they were changing vendors. but he needs a few sweaters.

Then if I have time I might go into macy's and see what is on sale. I am off to deerfield tomorrow and would like a nice (warm ) sweater to wear with my wool pants tomy trustee meeting.

my friends have given me their Yankee Candle list as the factory is right in Deerfield Ma.

OK off to dry my hair and hit the road. Good day chickies, stay warm.

Morning Ladies
Limited time this morning as I just finished exercising and really need a shower before facing this cold--that word just isn't doing this day justice--day.

I want to hear more about these protein shakes--I may have to try some, as you all know eggs get a little tiresome!

Stiil doing the induction--just not seeing any big or relatively small changes in my weight--the fat just won't give up!! BURN BABY BURN!!

Anybody watching any of the "Reality" shows?? They are really getting a bad rap lately-just wondering if I am the only one who keeps watching?

OK OK--I can't stand the smell of myself--gotta jump in some warm water!!

Morning Ladies

Went to the business assoc. annual dinner meeting last night, and had some crab cakes and other ocean fare. All breaded and deep fried, and it sat in my belly all night That will certainly NOT be something I'll do again.

Not alot happening here, off to work soon, did my weights this morning, and I'll get out for my walk later today.

Spirits are lifting a bit around here.... here is the link to the info on the crash in northern ontario. http://www.sootoday.com/ I went into the card shop yesterday to buy a sympathy card, and I broke down in the back of the store....thank goodness the store was empty. Turns out I knew all the ppl on the helicopter, and my ex was very good friends with 3 of them. He isnt taking this very well at all. This is a job that both him and I used to do (moose surveys). Its pretty scarey how close to home it got. Ok, Im off before I start crying again

Have a good day ladies

Default Finally got in here.

Busy day at work. I'm finally at lunch a hour and 1/2 late. Big deadlines and stupid/pushy/worthless/unorganized architects don't mix. Okay, I've vented.

For some reason my weight is going the wrong way. I've gained 2.5 pounds. Of course I'm also 2 weeks late for TOM, so I could just be pms'ing. For some reason whenever I go back on induction, my cycle is really screwed up, it's always late. And "no" I couldn't be pg. DH has been fixed. (and if for some chance I am, I'm sending it to Pooky, cause I'm happy being child-free.)

Speaking of which, did I mention that my cousin just gave birth last week. She didn't even know she was expecting. Never gained weight except in her chest, and her cycle never stopped. She had a 5lb baby boy, about 3 hours after she found out she was pregnant. Imagine going to the ER hemorraging, only to find out you're in labor. She had to call her Mom (10 hrs away) and tell her. Sle waited until after she gave birth to call her husband in Italy where he's stationed.

Robin - I'm sending big hugs to you and DH.

Is a moose survey where you count the moose? I have the strange image in my head of you approaching an moose, saying "Excuse me, Mr. Moose, may I have a moment of your time..." like they do in those customer surveys in the malls. Ok, that was probably completely innappropriate, I'm sorry.

Dyan! I would kill to be your cousin--to be pg and not know it!? With Miree had "all day" sickness for 4 months and heartburn after that! There was no doubt I was pg (besides I showed after 3 months). I can only imagine how your cousin feels. Excited and weirded out at the same time!
Oh and a moose survey is where you have to look at the habitat of the moose and guesstimate how many moose live in a particular area. I think they also document the herds they see and where they see them.

Quick Miree update, she threw up all over the couch a half an hour ago so everything is shot for tomorrow. Cancelled everything and now I'm waiting for dh to come home and then run to the grocery store.

Robin honey, just breathe and think fondly of them, don't focus on how a whole life lived ended, OK? ((((ROBIN)))

That dreaded S word! It's so cooooooooold!!! Wind chill tonight expected to be -5, so all this lovely melting snow will be ice on our roads. You know when you get two snowflakes to rub together, all our brains go out the window. We forget how to drive, we had over 400 wrecks one day last year when it snowed. Of course, I will be locked up at work so there is no chance of my driving off the road. Could that be my excuse not to go?

You know, I would love to be pg and not even know it. I gained a ton of weight, and was sick a lot, and miserable, and bitc*y all the time. Some people are so lucky! Glad to hear they are both okay.

Love to everyone, I'm going to roast myself in the oven, or at the very least, take a hot bath.
