Default Weight Loss and Clothing Sizes

I am looking for some perspective on clothing sizes in relation to your weight loss.
I have lost 20 lbs and 18 inches.
My clothes do "fit" better and I have had to buy new bras as my cups size has gone down... but my jeans and pants while they are loose, I am not ready to go down a size.

Somehow in my brain this shouldn't equate... I do admit I look better in my clothes, but somehow the weight isn't equalling clothing sizes

One gal at my clinic who is on Phase III said that she didn't have to buy new clothes until she was at her goal weight..

Does anyone have a similar experience...

I started at 16o ish - currently am at 145ish - and would like to get down to the low 120's

I'm with you. I have lost almost 20 pounds as well, and supposedly lots of inches, but there is no need at all for me to get new clothes. People have said I look better though. My thought is that maybe I was just delusional before, not wanting to buy bigger sizes and wearing clothes that were actually too tight on me.
I was kinda disappointed, too, because I had seen a lot of people talking about how they had to buy all new clothes by like week 3... definitely not the case with me.

Don't worry though. We know we are losing fat, and the fat isn't just coming from nowhere. It will show eventually. I figure even if I don't go down that many sizes, I will look fabulous in whatever size I end up at, and I will know that it is not fat dictating my size, but just my body structure.

Hang in there!

I've lost 16 lbs and I notice I can button my pants easier and I think I need to go down a cup and band size.

I've lost 18 pounds and have gone down 2 pants sizes and from larges to mediums in shirts, but that was a couple weeks ago, since then it doesn't seem like much has budged. Though, I do see fat disappearing in random places, like my back (woo who!). I have heard some other people saying that they are losing from the top down, meaning the bottom half of your body loses at the end, if that makes sense.

I have lost 22 pounds and many inches.
I have moved from a size 10 pants to a 6. I even have bought some 4's recently. And am now a definite small top where I used to be a medium.

I am at my goal weight-hovering around 145 pounds.

I exercise a lot. I think that I have a significant amount of muscle, so I do weigh more that I appear to.

I tried to postpone buying new clothes until I absolutely had to (last week!). I started out at a size 18/20 pant and now fit into 10/12.
The odd thing was getting a new bra! I started out as a 40 DD...right now I am a 34 F. With such a drastic change in bra size, I decided to buy just one for now and see what happens when I hit goal. I must say it is nice to wear a bra that only has 3 fasteners on the back! My original bras have about 6 (even 8 on one of them!)

I have lost 10 pounds and my clothes are just fitting better. No need to run out and buy new stuff yet.

But let me say this, I am wearing these clothes much better at a higher weight than I was when I bought them! Right now I am at 159.8 and I bought most of my pants and things when I weighed around 152. They fit me the same now as they did when I was almost 8 pounds less. Does this make sense? I guess what I am trying to say is that I think I lost more fat in those 10 pounds than I did when I weighed my lowest.

Is this a typo? Did you mean 34D? (D and F are next to each other on the keyboard...) And I can't image a 34F having only 3 fasteners.

I was hoping it was a typo because I desperately want to lose my girls. I am a 40 DDD and hope to be down to a C by the time I am done. If not it is reduction surgery for me.

I have been living in a size 14 pants for the last 6 years and my weight has fluctuated from 170-222. It is probably because I am tall and the weight spreads over a long skeleton. I also gain my weight in my mid-section so even when my legs are swimming in the pants I cannot move down a size till my abdomen catches up.
My friend is 5'1, weighs about 113lbs and she wears a 6.

I lost 30 lbs on IP and the differences are as follows:

- Pants went from size 16 to size 9-10
- Tops and dresses went from size XL to size M
- Underwear has gone from size XL to size M
- Bras have gone from 38C to 36B

I get tons of comments from colleagues, family, friends, food court workers, etc.

I have lost almost 20lbs but I haven't had to go down in a pant size yet. My pants are loser but I'm thinking another 10lbs and I'll look at going down...don't worry it will happen!

I have lost 41lbs/49 inches and have not had to buy new clothes. I guess I never realized that my clothes were tight. My clothes just fit like they were suppose to fit to begin with. I won't buy clothes for a while because I have a lot to loose unless they literally start falling off of me and I begin to look frumpy...can't have that!
