Default Saturday 12-21-02

G'morning everyone.

Loko I hope you saw where I told you what TP was...if not, it's toilet paper. Now you know why Linda and her co-workers were needing it.

I'm having a Pepsi and downing my meds while I plan out the day. Don't know about the rest of you but I am putting a nap at the top of my list of to-do's.

Had a nice time in chat last night. Kamari, Jaymee and Cin were there and though Linda said she'd be in after she ate, she never showed. She may have come in after I left to go to bed. Otherwise that was one heck of a meal she had. What in the world did you have Linda???

Got my first Christmas present yesterday. It was from Chris' caregiver. A set of 3 angel pigs each playing an instrument...so cute. They are about 3 inches tall. She also gave me a bottle of shower gel and a matching scent of bar soap. Is she telling me that I am a pig and stink??? I will give her a roll of TP today and see what conclusions she comes to.

The master of the house is up today so I will lose computer privleges here in a minute. I have 2 more Santa letters to make for some little girls today. Got 2 done last night. They turned out really cute. The parents put them out before the kids get up Christmas morning. I make them personal by adding things the parents tell me about the kid. I add graphics as well.

I need to go and balance Dad's checkbook. I am behind now 3 months. Being his Guardian I have to account for every penny spent whether cash or check. The courts can pull my records at any given time to look them over so I best get busy. Waaaah

Hope you all have a great day....one of you could at least invite me to dinner so I don't have to cook!!

Good morning SweetPea,

I had a 2 hour nap in the afternoon yesterday.....it was unplanned.....but I felt better after.

I am making my tourtiere today....it's a French Canadian meat pie.....am going to make 5 of them. Then I am going to wrap some gifts....do laundry & some cleaning after.

DH has gone over to DS3's house to help him put some new baseboards in....so it's just me & the dog.

Have been feeling better the last few days. DS1 arrives on Monday for Christmas. It will be nice to see him again. He is seeing someone now. He is 35 & I guess you always worry about your kids. He is going to her family Xmas dinner today. I think it is the first time that he is seeing them.

Have a great day everyone.

April

Hi again,

Leenie ......for 5 of these pies I use 3 lbs. ground beef, 1 lb. ground veal & 1 lb. lean ground pork.

Then there is ground cloves, onion, garlic, water & bread crumbs.
You cook it on the stove first for about 35 to 45 minutes...then put bread crumbs in the mixture until a spoon stands up by itself. Then you let it cool for a while....then put it into pie shells & cover it with another pie shell. Then bake them.

It's my mother's recipe....was my grandmother's recipe & so on. My grandmother came from Quebec in Canada. They are a tradition. We make them every Christmas.

Yum April...sounds delish. I've never ate veal but have heard it is good. Happy for you that your son is home.

Leens and Linda...all these cookies you've baked and yet my cookie jar sits empty. I need to make some tomorrow. I'm going to make the shoestring potato ones. Not sure if they qualify as a cookie or candy but know they sure are good. Then the peanut butter drops which also not sure if a cookie or candy. I'd say candy but what do I know. (Shut up Linda ) Chris wants some chocolate covered peanuts. I want fudge but won't be making any. I know I'd sit and eat it all by myself.

Time to fix dinner and not sure what to fix. Chris says order a pizza....yeah right. Wonder where he has that money tree planted I had a big salad for lunch. Tasted so good. I am on a salad binge so will be taking advantage of it while it lasts.

Good to see you April and Leens....where are the rest of you???

Thumbs down

Hi everyone,

I finished my substitute position, for now that is, I put in 3 weeks, I sub'd for a lady that has a lot of health problems, her doctor wants her to go on early retirement, she has now got a heart condition, she had something done, it's like an angioplasty, I'm not sure exactly what it's called, but it was painful, most of it is caused from smoking, she also is being treated for depression, she has a lot going on, I do hope that she gets well, she's a nice lady, So the three weeks was nice, just as I was getting back into the habbit of working, I'm done again, until something comes up.

Our Christmas holiday will be small, since my dad passed away 3 yrs. ago we don't socialize w/ my brother and wife( I learned quickly, it's for the best) My mother-in-law had to be put into a resthome, so all we will do is celebrate together, just the 4 of us, visit my mother, who lives about 1 hour away, and visit my mother-in-law, the home is 30 min. away.
Thanksgiving was nice just the 4 of us, I don't have too awful much food.
Talking about food, how is everyone doing on watching the fudge, cookies, cakes, candy? I hope doing ok!!

I found out I failed a test I had taken with the county, I will just keep trying and trying.

Take Care all
