I had a lack of motivation time, and the thing that helped me was just telling myself- "okay, lets forget the numbers on the scale and just see what happens if I keep at it for one more day, and one more day after that..."

That happens to me too, I stop caring to stick to something then weight goes up I get back on a diet and it goes down, I keep friends that hold me accountable for when Im being lazy.

Slipping up, in my opinion, is not too big a deal. You can regain lost ground and get rid of regained weight (it'll probably be easier to lose it again anyway). The important thing is to not let it snowball.

A lot of people seem to get discouraged, then turn to more eating or sedentary activity as a way of coping. Don't fall into that trap, just get up and back on the horse!

Truth is numbers on the scale are going up for me...but the inches are dropping. F the scale! Maybe you need to remove yourself from the scale and stop stressing so much. Jan I was carefree of weight loss and lost 7 pounds (I worked out but I didn't obsess over it.) Feb I was obsessed and lost only 1.5 pounds and now I'm back up into the 160s. Maybe you're one of those people who if you think about weight loss too much you don't lose because you stress. Try a different approach and like I said. F the scale...it's a jerk.

OMG too funny. My scale is a jerk that LOVES playing mind games with me. It's like he says, "Oh let's show her a big loss today and then take it away from her tomorrow." I too have said F the scale and am going by how my pants are getting more loose, and how much stronger I'm getting at the gym.
