Default Tuesday Weigh In

Hi Everyone!

I usually weigh in on Wednesday mornings but decided to go a day early because I have school tomorrow. This week I lost 4.6lbs for a total of 99.2 I decided to switch back to momentum 3 weeks ago and have lost a total of 11.2lbs since switching back.

How did everyone do who weighed in today?!

I was scheduled to have Lapband surgery 1 month before I decided I didn't want to be cut open. I wanted to give myself one more chance to see if I could do this on my own and thankfully I have. Weight Watchers has seriously saved my life and my only regret is that I didn't do this sooner

Wow, that is really inspirational---do you ever go on the surgery pages? I don't read them, but I do think your an excellent example of what is possible! Weight loss surgery is a 'quick fix' that can cause lasting health issues, and I've seen two of my own extended family members gain back much of what they initially lost after the surgery because they didn't deal with the real issues surrounding food!

I had considered surgery, but like you did not want to be cut open. I am giving myself this last chance as well. Now I know it can be done

Default Down 7 lbs and ready for the weights

I am at 283 as of yesterday down from 290-my highest weight. I suffered from the "flu-like symptoms" that I was warned about, as I went cold turkey from eating too many starches and sweets, so starving the yeast population in my body made me sick! I am feeling MUCH better though. I am going back to weight training tonite and expect to be down 2 sizes by March or April.
BTW my diet is similar to the DASH diet for hypertension, which also is good for type 2 diabetics.
Congatulations to everyone, including the ones who stuck to their plan but did not see a loss this week. If you are not doing some light weight training and you can do it (I start at 3 or 4 lbs and move to 8 or 9) add in a ten minute routine and you'll see inches fall off your body!

Keep on keepin' on!

OP---why do you think PP didn't work for you and momentum works so much better? I don't know what momentum even is, I don't know if that was the points system before PP or something else? I'm just really curious as to why you think it works better for you, since WW is so adamant about the new PP system being the most scientifically-based, up-to-date program. (congrats, by the way---almost at 100!)

Thanks!!!

There are many of us who have had the same issue with P+ and decided to switch back. I started out on the Momentum Plan which was before P+ and the only difference between the 2 is fruit is counted and you get less daily points. I am at 25 right now so it's not that much of a difference but every 10pounds I lose, I also lose 1 point because my body's caloric need is also reduced. I really like my carbs, for example, on P+ an Arnold Thin is 3 points, on Momentum it's 1 point, a bag of 94% fat free popcorn is 7pts on P+ and 5 on Momentum. I know there are people who are extremely sensitive to carbs which is why P+ works great because it focuses on low carb, more protein.

I will be switching back to P+ when I reach goal because I think it's a great for maintenance

I'm that person that thinks they will do better on P+ due to the carb issue i had on the P system. I had to stop doing that, i was plateaued for 8 weeks this plan i feel i can do as a lifestyle i'm hoping!

Thanks for the explanation! That is great if it is working better for you---my mom (currently maintaining lifetime for 2 plus years) was not doing so great on PP either and was going to go back to the old points system, but she has stuck with it and is again maintaining (not gaining) as she was at first on PP. She is watching her fruit more closely
