Default 12 lbs to lose in 71 days

I needed a place to hold accountability. I have been struggling with my eating on and off for the last year. I thought I had good control at the beginning of the year but my boyfriend, so to speak, has left to become a pilot for the Navy. I have both been working out a great deal, but would have episodes of overeating too, so my efforts to get in shape have been wasted.

I picked April 22nd as a date I want to lose for. I feel that I needed a countdown to, literally, get my butt in gear.

I had a bit of an all day binge yesterday and I'm sure due to the food in me and the water my body is holding, I weighed in this morning at 147. On Sunday I was 141. I want to be 135, so as of today I have 12 lbs to lose. Hoping that the 6 pounds gained in the last two days is water, I really have 6.. Either way, in 71 days I want to be 135 and a size smaller.

Here we gooo

Me too !!! Im trying to lose exactly 14 pds by May 1. Well Actually Cinco de Mayo. I want to be 118

Do any of you ladies know if you HAVE to lift weights when trying to get off the very last bit of fat? Or can I just continue to run and eat healthy/low cal and it will eventually all fall off?

You don't HAVE to life weights, but it really helps to tone and tighten everything. Building muscle means that you burn more calories throughout the day since it takes more energy to sustain muscle than it does to sustain fat.

I'm a big proponent and I strength train about 2 hours per day, so I'm always going promote weight training.

I agree with weight training being remarkable and making a huge difference. But not to sound cliche, but I really do have a lot of muscle from sports for 7 years. I am only 23, so it wasnt that long ago. I highly doubt I lost much muscle mass, if any. I just gained fat over it. So thats why I just want to lose the fat and not gain muscle. Do you kind of understand what Im trying to say? its kind of confusing..

@Dianne- I totally hear what you're saying. I've always had muscle mass. I played sports my whole life, then went to college on a basketball scholarship. I got injured pretty badly in college so no more basketball. Then I went in to the Army for 6 years.

But most females do not build muscle mass, they just tone up. 98% of us do not have the physical/chemical make-up to get bigger. So if you're just trying to stay lean and trim I would maybe add something like a Flow Yoga to your workout routine. I take 2 days off a week from strength training and focus those days completely on cardio and yoga. I love the way it lengthens your muscles and develops your core. Plus it just gives you time to slow down and focus your mind.

Thanks so much for the compliment

Thumbs down

At 142 as of this morning. I feel like I'm still holding onto some water weight after a few drinks with friends the other night. I felt horrible the next day because I know that drinking hinders my weight loss efforts. But, it wasn't much, my body is just super sensitive. Anyway, the good thing about it is that I didnt over eat (or eat at all) while I was drinking which usually ALWAYS happens, so it could have been much worse.

Thanks for the support... 62 days to go!

I totally feel for you on the drinking thing. Some how I always mess up do to calories from both alcohol and the food I eat when my inhibitions are lowered. Plus i get really bloated and puffy from drinking for a few days after.

Good luck on you goal, you're getting there!

Red face

@maenad: Thank you!

@Lozz: Theres only a little over 61 days til the end of April! I'm sure you can definitely knock the weight off too!

Weighed in at 140 today. I haven't seen the scale on the edge of the 130's in quite awhile, so I'm in a good mood and looking forward to the gym today.

Thank you so much for all your support!
61 Days left.
