Default Weightloss seems to be helping me...

Heya!

Losing weight seems to have given me more days bleed-free (Started out for me that it was easier to count the no-bleed days in a year than the light-"average?"-heavy days each month, I shudder to think how many boxes of pads I was going through, ).

But also has returned to me the bad cramps from my teenage years... UGH!!! (I'm nearly 25)

Nearly fifty pounds down, I'll be happy to buy a new bottle of extra-strength Midol if getting closer to "goal weight" means a more "normal" period.

But for now, I groan! *wants a midol or a heating pad, or both *

Love to all my PCOS sisters!

Yayyy, congrats on getting some relief, and double congrats on the weight loss! I remember the cramps like it was yesterday, and I had a hysterectomy 15 years ago!

Congratulations on both...I know exactly how you feel!

I'm down about 25 pounds from my weight last year, and I've definitely noticed some things about my PCOS seem to be better. Like the hirsutism....that's not nearly as bad as it used to be (thought I'm still waxing). And for some reason even though I'm on BC pills for the last two months it's like my body has been trying to over-ride them...I have been on a "light version" of my cycle for the last week, even though I'm not supposed to start until next week because I don't start the non-hormone pills until then! (I'm a bit worried about that honestly...)

But I've gotten the same thing with the cramps! Only got them sporadically before, and usually they weren't too bad. But these last two cycles they've been so bad that they've actually woken me up out of a dead sleep! But I'm with you...I'd rather buy some midol or pamprin if it means being halfway normal!

Yeah, I wonder what would happen if I went on BC or something for PCOS. My doc just pushed iron pills for the anemia I have from "menorrhagia" and sent my to a Gyno who said I could either take a pill or some other hormone contraption, but couldn't care either way. I am rather annoyed with the "whatever" response I get from the doctors.

If you can why not go on the pill? At least it might help stop the bleeding and regulate you- it's really one of the only things that has helped me get a period.

I know when I'm doing bad when my period doesn't come for the month *sigh*

I think the phrase, "Might bleed more" got me there. And the oral BC made me sick. I might try it if/when I have problems when I hit my normal weight range. I'm having a bit of progress so far with the symptoms, and I don't have very far left to go. I've had this bleeding problem for about 10 years now, unfortunately, I am used to it.
