Thumbs up Drastic Measures

Girls
I need to do something DRASTIC! I have a wedding in a month exactly, and I NEED TO LOSE SOME NOW!! The low carb is working, but SLOWLY, and although I know it shouldnt be a race, but rather a lifestyle thing, I NEED TO JUST HAVE SOME QUICK RESULTS NOW!!!!!! I may have to try a fad diet for a few weeks.....do we all think I'm nuts or what?

OK, you may not like hearing what I have to say but honestly, I think you are expecting WAY too much. With only 4 weeks, you can only reasonably lose about 8-10 pounds and it really doesn't show that much. For a WOE to work, you have to adjust your expectations to meet reality. You embarked on this journey of healthy eating to make changes in your lifestyle. By setting yourself up to meet impossible goals, you aren't doing yourself any favours. Honestly, I really think you have to teach yourself to be happy with who you are and keep following your WOE becasue it's what fits your lifestyle now. Weddings come and go--thye last only one day, but a WOE is for life--YOUR life. And ultimately, that is what has to take rpecedence here. I understand that you don't want to give up your WOE, just tweak it to lose weight. But as my gramma has always said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just a little something to think about

PJ, I think the fad diets are what messed up my metabolism in the first place. I agree with Pooky, just continue as healthy as possible! Meanwhile, why don't you post your daily food/drink menus and somebody might see something that could speed up what you are doing!?

I agree !

Stick with what you know. Going from diet to diet will screw you up and I am living proof of that. Will 10 lbs really make such a difference that you are willing to risk what you've worked so hard at (so far) ?

I bet you look better than you think you do NOW !!! we are our own worst critics.

Just remember to smile at the wedding and you'll look like a million dollars no matter what your wearing.

Huggs & Kisses and DON'T PANIC !!

Love, Leenie

Go out and buy a body shaper! You'll feel miserable, but you'll look about 10 to 15 pounds thinner. You may think I'm trying to be funny, but I'm not. I'm serious. I have one that I wear to special occasions like that. It really works, and who knows you might find one that's actually comfortable.

Please, please, PLEASE, PJ, don't go the fad diet route. May I recommend that you try the Fat Flush Plan? I've been on it over a month and although I've only lost about 5 lb (I'll find out tomorrow if it's more) I'm really noticing a difference in how my clothes fit....and that's the main thing, isn't it?
In just the past few days I've received several compliments on my weight loss but nobody noticed the 28 lb that took me over a year to lose on WW. Suddenly, with the FFP, they are noticing a difference. Go figure.
FFP is NOT a fad diet. It's nutritionally sound and do-able. I feel really great and have lots of energy and my skin has never been nicer...even though it's wrinkled.

I agree with Barb. I absolutely love my body shapers. (or as a friend calls them "suck-it-in-underwear") I bought 2 at K-mart, but the last two I bought were WW brand and I think they are better made. I also have one thats a full slip-like thing that can be worn strapless, if the wedding is really dressy.

As for the Fat Flush Plan, I'd really like to find out more about that. Is it compatible with low carb? I could certainly use a little "boost" myself. This plateau I'm on is not too scenic.

OK, I won't tell you not to try another diet, but being on the low carb thing I have found that when I faltered and gained a couple of pounds after eating a no-no I tried Atkins Fat Fast, which allows almost all fats, 1000 calories. 1 small meal every 4 hours for a total of 5 meals consisting of 200 calories each. It is in the Atkins book. I dropped 4 pounds after 1 1/2 days on this then restarted my Induction phase. Good Luck

SO. I'm going to add some more fruit in.....i guess i cant go whole hog low carb right now...not to mention i'm getting all weird with expecting so much from myself. so i'm just going to calm down, eat healthily and see what happens.........
