Default Had a crap day

I'm starting over in the morning.

So, I got fired.

I'm being melodramatic. I didn't get fired, I just got.... streamlined, I guess. I was demoted to "focus on the things I do really really well" and "leave the menial stuff to someone else." But that someone else got my job as chair of our committee and now I'm just the editor.

Anyway.

I cried, and I dug out frozen pound cake that I swear I had no idea was in the house until I started digging. Then I had one of my kids' ice cream bars at lunch, and then I had an Arby's sandwich for lunch. (mindfully skipped the fries and coke, just had the sandwich, but still.) I sort of chose to spiral.

I did go work out still, and I did drink all my water, and I did have the planned dinner with lots of veggies, but I let my day go into the crapper and I totally knew it.

Tomorrow is a new day. And I still have a job where I'm still a board member, these are all good things. I just had a tiny little pity party. I'm posting it here in the name of accountability and honesty.

OOH and I got fitted for new running shoes today. I'm really excited about that. It was crazy to see how horribly my ankles were rolling in when I ran on their little treadmill with the camera. No wonder my feet hurt. Hopefully my sweet new shoes will get my spirits back up when they come in on Monday.

Oooohhhh, I'm so sorry that happened to you! I know you think your day is in the crapper, but it sounds to me like to managed to keep it from being a full blown eating fest, so that's something to be proud of. You eat the planned dinner with veggies!

Start again tomorrow, and make it a better day. You can do it.

Did your salary change any? Because if not, dude, celebrate! I've chaired committees and it's a drag! :P

Let's back up for a second...

You had a really, really, really crappy day. Something you have to remember, and I struggle with this, is that "normal" people have bad days too and sometimes "normal" people choose to have bad days with food for comfort as well. The difference is that on OCCASION and ALL THE TIME are two different things. So don't beat yourself up.

So yeah you went on the hunt for bad food... and yes you had an ice cream sandwich... and maybe you threw in an arby's sandwich, but let's look at the plus...

You didn't get the fries or the coke. You RECOGNIZED you were eating emotionally... and you have an on plan dinner.

It really could've been a lot worse.

Pick yourself up, brush yourself off...
