Question Day 1 - Very nauseous

Is this normal? I don't remember this when I did it before. Is it my body withdrawing from sugar? I am shaky and hugging a trash can (just in case)...Help!

Was yesterday your Day 1 and today starts Day 2? Either way, I would say no, this isn't normal. If you're hugging a trash can you might have a bug, or maybe you overdid it on fats. Can you share your menu?

I started yesterday at lunch. I had a salad with grilled chicken (no carrots, only lettuce, spinach, and a couple cherry tomatoes) with full fat ranch and real bacon. Last night I had a salad...again..with meat, cheese, full fat dressing. This morning I had scrambled eggs with cheese and 3 pieces of regular bacon. I have chewed some sugar-free gum in hopes of that helping and had half of a diet soda (which I know is not good on induction). I have just been very shaky and nauseous but it is getting a tiny bit better as the day progresses. I am expecting the low blood sugar headaches to begin any minute now. Tips to get through induction are greatly appreciated.

I have had issues with nausea off and on since starting Atkins. I really kept up my water intake, and that seems to settle my nausea, so maybe in the first few days with all the water loss you are a bit dehydrated, which can cause nausea ... for me, increasing my water takes care of the nausea.

Angelmom, I think this reaction would be rare after 3 meals, unless you really ate a lot of fat grams with cheese and salad dressing and are feeling the effects of too much fat.

If you really think you are shaky from low blood sugar, you should eat something. Have you had sugar problems in the past? Do you have a meter?

NO. I have never had sugar problems. I think it is most likely a "bug" because now I have been sick/nauseous for 2 days. I'm hoping to make it through a couple more days of induction...otherwise, I may go straight to the OWL and hope that helps. Thanks for input. Have a good day.

When I started, I just developed a cold. So I was confusing my symptoms.
