Default Make Up Makeover...

I was thinking I might like to have this done. Anyone care to share their favorite brands/stores to go to that they would recommend? Thanks in advance!

I love Bare Escentuals mineral makeup! It's the first brand I've tried where I really like EVERYthing - the foundation, eye shadow, lipstick, etc. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the mascara and that's only cause I still had a full one from another brand when I discovered the Bare Escentuals store lol. I have combination skin (manages to get shiny and flaky at the same time, ugh lol) and theirs is the best foundation I've found for it so far.

Prior to that, Origins was my go-to for makeup, and they have nice stuff as well - it's just mostly very natural/neutral shades for eyes and lips, and I wanted more variety of colors to choose from last time.

I second Bare Escentuals! I love this makeup and have gotten most of my family and friends to switch to it. It doesn't even feel like makeup and I get compliments on my skin all the time!

Best mineral make-up on earth, hands down Smoky Mountain Minerals (http://www.smokymountainminerals.com) I was a BE user for years but...honestly the color was never quite right for me & the "buffing" to apply it only to have it look "shimmery"...was honestly more trouble than it was worth. Not to mention, BE can be pricey.
SMM does not need to be "buffed" into the skin because it does not contain Bismuth Oxycholoride like BE does. The result is even, flawless skin...doesn't even look like you're wearing make-up. It is also about ½ the price of BE...they offer discounts all the time....and best of all, FREE shipping!

If you are pale like me, Shiseido is great. MAC is good too. And if you have a Sephora nearby there are a million brands to try there!

I always love getting makeovers at the M.A.C. counter, and I really like all of the products!

I'm a big fan of Estee Lauder. If you're looking for "natural" then MAC is probably not the best place to go, for some reason they insist that the people who work there be made up like drag queens and they scare me.

I also like to have a fresh natural look. The essentials for that are concealer, bronzer, lipgloss, mascara, and eye brow pencil (if you're blond like me.)

Brows are the most important aspect of grooming on your face, make sure they are shaped beautifully and professionally.

To get that beautiful "natural" fleshy lip color combine your regular lip gloss with a dot of concealer, your lips will look like Jennifer Lopez's.

I think beige-y lips are another blond thing! That is the worst on me. I know Jennifer Lopez isn't blond, but it doesn't count when you have an entire professional look going on

I didn't realize it was a blonde thing, and neither did these ladies.

Once a year, when I go back to Cleveland....I have a makeover done at the Sephora store. It is free (well, I always end up buying a ton of products) and they use a bunch of different products. I have had "makeup makeovers" at other department store counters...but Sephora is awesome. I find I have to call a few weeks ahead to get an appointment.

This is a nice forum....I often read it, but have never posted here. As my weight has come off, I treat myself to "different" makeup...creams..whatever..instead of food! So I am always on the lookout for thngs...(to treat myself with).

One of my "new" finds is some great "treatment" products from a gal that makes up her own creams. Found her while searching for "mature skin". I received her products a week or so ago..and am thrilled with them. She is so reasonable...knowledgeable...and makes up the formula for you specifically. My big surprise is that I can wear her eye cream. I must have a dozen eye creams in my drawer, and I can wear them at night, but during the day, they all make my eyes water (or swell up).
