Default Menus for Wed, July 17

I am home today from work, and have NO EXCUSES for illegal snacks or no choices or whatever I usually get away with!

b-2 scrambled eggs with chive cream cheese

l- out, probably some kind of salad with chicken, or a burger if I'm hungry

s- cheese, celery with veggie flavored cream cheese

d-don't know yet, maybe I'll hit the recipe thread for inspiration. I have time to cook, and something different would be nice!

drinking water

dottie
I'll come back later and update

Now it's 8pm and I had a burger for lunch, another burger for a snack, and chicken on romaine with mushrooms and hb eggs and ranch dressing for dinner. I might have had a cookie or two at DS this afternoon. Ooops!

Hi Dottie....do you follow a plan sort of like the zone or atkins? If so, could you help me with some things? I saw a report on these diets last night on Dateline and am very curious about the low-no carb diets......

Like....where can you find info online about these diets that can help one get started??? And food lists your allowed to eat etc.....

Thanks, Lisa

Default Hi, Mom

Just read around the threads here, and you'll learn alot!

There also is a FAQ under Low Carb Lifestyle, go back to the main page of 3fc and scroll all the way down.

Some of us do Atkins, some Carb Addicts Lifeplan Program, some Protein Power or Zone. But the best advice I can give you is to pick up one or more of these books and READ IT! It's hard to just start without knowing a little more, so read, read, read!

Good Luck, and post over on our "Daily" thread, just to say hi!

Sue~Hang in there! The most important thing is to be accountable. Not every day will be perfect. My daily meal plans change constantly throughout the day, so from now on I will post my meals later in the day (post what I actually have eaten). But it's still a good idea to have some type of plan in the morning, even if you don't stick to it.

Well, I never ate my salmon/salad at lunch. By the time I did an upper body WO and painted outside, it was already 2:30. So I ate an EAS Advantage lo-carb protein bar instead. Instead of pasta with my shrimp, I hada vegetable brown rice mix and roasted veggies. I'll probably have some strawberries and SF jello later as a snack.

So, tomorrow is another day~~~Thank goodness!!

Wednesday is one of my swim days, and I'd planned for breakfast out with friends afterward, but I still had half a cooked chicken breast before I left just to stave off starvation. Put in a good 45 minute water workout and then two friends and I went to Ricky's. I had a 2 eggs scrambled and talked them into giving me extra bacon because I was foregoing the hash browns and toast. It was very good although I wish they'd cook the eggs in butter instead of dry. (I'm so spoiled now. )

Lunch was the last slice of Cheeseburger Quiche. That is really rich and filling, isn't it? There's a recipe in the Atkins Friends forum that everyone is raving about. It's for a Deep Dish Pizza. All I need is to buy some mixed Italian grated cheeses and I'm set to go. If it comes anywhere close to the real thing, (and the posters are saying it does), I know I will be hooked.
Anyhow, with my quiche I had a small mixed salad with oil/vinegar dressing.

For dinner I have a chicken out and I'm think I'm just going to cut it up and fry it in butter with lots of seasoning. I'd love to try that recipe in our low carb section where you stick the beer can up the chicky's butt and cook it on the bbq but it's threatening rain out there. Y'know, I just remembered that I have a whole deli BBQ chicken sitting in the fridge. Sheesh! I think I'm losing it!! I guess I'll have enough chicken to snack on for a while. I will probably saute some zucchini, mushrooms and tomatoes to go with the chicken.
Snack was macadamia nuts dipped in cream cheese. Nummy.
I'll have a dish of s.f. jello and real whipped cream later this evening.
