Default First day starting Low Carb - Hi :)

Well, after reading the Atkins book and numerous articles online.. I have decided to try a low-carb approach to eating. I'm a bit skeptical but we shall see.

I have decided to do Atkins.. and so today is day 1 of Induction. So far so good.. I just really miss my coke!

Anyways.. just thought I would say hi!

Hi Tanya!!! welcome and you will be suprised at how much better you feel doing low carb. just be prepared for the first week feeling like crap as your body adjusts to the change in fuel. you may get a head ache and well feel like crap in a nut shell till your body becomes accusome to using the fat then watch out people have been know to start to go on a cleaning rampage after the first week so when youget to that stage plaease come over for a visist and a nice cup of coffee.

Default missing coke

Hi Tonic, I just had to reply to your comment about missing coke.....I found the hardest thing about this WOE was kicking the coke habit. But I did it, and I refuse to touch the stuff now. Ive fallen off the wagon and had a coke with that beloved chocolate bar, but after having the coke, I couldnt get back. So now when I have to have the chocolate, I have a pepsi. At least when I get back to behaving, I can do it right away!

Good luck hun, this is a great place for inspiration!!!

Default Thanks for the welcome

Thanks so much ladies.. I can already feel the support and I appreciate it!!!

goodforme: I will probably be pestering you all with my questions!! You might regret inviting me to ask!

MamaJ: I've already been sorta lurking on the daily threads.. maybe I will have the guts to pipe up sometime.

nasus40: I hope that I feel better on low carb. I've never actually felt bad on low-fat.... its just being a bit tired lately. I'm curious to see if maybe I am just used to how I feel or what. We'll see. I am not looking forward to the next couple of days.. the coke withdrawl has already set in and it isnt pretty.

RobinH: Did you say chocolate? mmmmm... must resist temptation... mmm...

if you crave chocoalte try a small (I mean small) piece of vdry dark chocoalte. That seems to help many but do not do that till after you have done the induction.

Tanya plaease with the withdrawn you will get a carb and caffiene with drawl headach. please be patient then after about a week you will be suprised at how much energy you have. you will not believe it!! it is like sone one infused you with caffiene. you actually will not believe that you can feel this good. HHHMMM is this incentive for me to get back OP after the week of camping and marshmellows ihad??? YES!!! Op for day 1 today!!

Hi Tanya,

Good luck w/ low carbing. I dont do Atkins either. But try and follow more of a low carb diet. I went to Target the other day and picked up the Atkins book. I was going to buy it. But did not. Thought I could find it at walmart but couldnt. I was thinking of trying the Atkins plan. At least that way i feel I would be able to get more variety of foods.

Good luck with the cravings too. LOL I deal w/ that constantly. i am like the craving queen here. I did alright last night w/ my cravings but for the most part always give in. Oh hang on...I forgot about those chocolate chip cookies I made for my husband. OOPS! Sorry. LOL

Okay gotta run...

Good Luck

Wink About Atkins

Being the cheapskate of the bunch, this is what I did. I read about his plan on the web, then I bought the book from Amazon used for about 2 bucks, plus shipping. It's the same book, who cares whether it's been read before? You could check at the library, they may have copies of a LOT of the plans.
