Default Slim in Six?

Hello! Has anyone done the Slim in Six program before? It's by Beachbody. I have heard a few mixed things about it but generally it seems to have gotten pretty positive results for toning and losing a few pounds as well. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any personal experience with this to let me know. I only have the DVDs, not the nutrition guide or anything that supposedly comes with it, so I will be continuing to follow WW while doing the six weeks of workouts. I started it today (the Start it Up one) and was feeling pretty good about my effort so hopefully I'm on the right track with finding something I can stick with as it wasn't too hard and I wasn't angry and exhausted at the end of it, haha! If anyone has the DVDs and wants to join me for the next six weeks, that would be great too!

Thanks in advance

Hi,

There is (or at least there was) a thread about Slim in Six in the fitness videos section. It's not the most active thread but it does resurface fairly regularly. It may be another good place to look for thoughts on the program.

I'm not a slim in six person myself but I wish you luck with the program. By what I've heard about it, it works... some people just find it a little boring.

Thanks so much for pointing me in that direction Sylvied! I've heard a few times it can be a bit boring as well but here's hoping I can just switch off the brain and do it anyway!

Hello! I bought this about 3 years back, and if you stick with it, it gives good results. (I didn't stick with it.)

I must say tho, don't buy the pills and what not. All they really are are overpriced vitamins, that you can buy at the drugstore, and the meal plan is just a eat right, eat this, not that type thing. All it really tells you is what you already know what to eat and not to eat, and when to eat.

and if also comes with a fasting menu, if you need to lose the weight fairly quickly for an event. but it does tell you not to use the menu for everyday use.

hope this has helped you.

Thanks for your input Lindsay! I only have the DVDs and not the nutrition plan and also don't intend to buy any of the supplements. I am going to count calories while doing the six week program and see how that goes instead!

Hey Freedomreins! I actually JUST received the DVDs and started 2 days ago! I would enjoy being workout buddies. I have to go work a summer camp next week which will cramp my style, but other than that I'm full systems go!

I actually cheated yesterday and did Start It Up AND Ramp It Up (I was curious). I really like them both, and my arms and butt are really sore today. I managed to do Start It Up and the 12 minute supplemental ab work routine today. I'm also managing calories and nutrition on CalorieKing as I'm not a member of anything else. I'll keep updated!
