I'm finally back home where I have reliable internet, with most of my sanity intact.
The missing USB with our team data has been located. Grr! After a 15 hour drive yesterday, I found it on my dining room table as I started to tear the house apart. So now I will finally fix last weeks info, and move on. I'm not going to dwell on my apalling lack of leadership, anyone who has had two weeks like my last two will understand I'm sure. I blame reunion nerves, and my family.
Some good news, my cousin's baby-boy-to-be has been declared okay. The testing came back as within the normal range, not in the range for developmentally impaired.
Details on the reunion and other events will follow eventually, I'm going to catch up first.
Welcome Home, hope you do get a few minutes to catch up, sometimes you need a few to get back into the groove. So glad things are much better for you, and so wonderful about your cousins' little boy.
Maybe I was just repressing last week....we gained weight as a team. Summers are a harder time to lose weight, I think. Everyone says the holidays are difficult, but I find summer much harder to stay focused.
I managed to eek out a 1/2 pound loss this week, so I'm at 143.5. These last 10-20 pounds are going to be very slow to leave, I can already tell.
Funny story...at the family reunion I had set my camera down, and someone picked it up and asked whose camera it was. They looked at the pictures on the display, and saw the picture of my feet and scales from my "I made goal day" and immediately said....It must be Dee's.
Hi Team!
Sorry I have been MIA for such a long time. My mom was here for a 2 week long visit, and that didn't leave time for anything else (not even eating right). I wasn't even sure if I had been kicked out of the challenge since I lost track of my freebies.
I gained some weight and I hate to post such a gain, but I have no choice if I want to stay in the challenge (I am out of freebies now). I now have a few weeks to at least get back to where I was when this started
I also agree summer is tough, but I don't want to think about how far behind I would be without this challenge. Maybe this week....will be our week!!
I also love the shorter hair.
Hopefully this week we can get back on track. I'm also losing ground. I did so well the first 4 months of the year. Then I added exercise and everything has been going down hill from there. I am loving running though so I just need to be patient while I get the food aspect back in control.
I used my freebie this past week because my body is seriously messed up post Swine Flu. That wonderful 'loss' I had that enabled me to be the 'biggest loser' for our team for a week? It's back. ALL of it and more. I'm sure the whole wild shifting is water related but I have no idea. I'm hoping my body will sort of 'level out' this week and I'll know where I stand.
One thing is for sure- if I just went through 2 weeks of only eating 1,000- 1,200 calories per day and I GAINED weight through the whole thing, I'm gonna be mad. Seriously? Whose body does this weirdness? I can't understand how the math would even make it possible. Sigh.
And thanks to those who said summer is actually a hard time to lose weight. I've been so disappointed in my lack of progress so it's good to know that others are struggling trying to do this right now too.
Bee - Hang in there. You body will figure out that you aren't starving to death and let loose some of the weight. Mine does the same thing when I'm sick.
I briefly saw 142.5 flash on the scale this morning before it settled at 143. I'm excited. I once told a woman here at work who was complaining about weighing 140, that if I EVER hit 140, I'd have it tattooed across my forehead. I'm hoping they'll let me get away with erasable magic marker instead.
I've decided to try and do a 10K in October, so I'm off to looking at training plans. BBL
binderbee-funny, same thing happens to me, and if there is any hidden salt, the scale will show that too! Hang in there, your body just needs some extra time to recover from your illness. Try not to look at the little picture, look at how well you have done, you have lost an amazing amount of weight, and I'm sure your clothes and how you feel is so much better, than when you started this journey. Just a small hiccup on your way.
dixied-that is one terrific goal you have for yourself, Good Luck with your training.
Hi to the Blue Team-hope all is well
*****
Right now, things are good. DH did get that job that I mentioned a while back, so happy for him, it's been 3yrs, but....that's another long boring story.
I'm also having some trouble with the scale, but I will take my own advice, {so easy to give, hard to take}
Well need to get some things done, so have a great day chickies
As for me... forgot to weigh in last week, probably because I was so p.o.'d about my gain! Oops. Back to a loss this week, thankfully!
I've been doing 30mins of yoga 2-3 times a week at work lately, which I am LOVING and already feeling stronger from! We went to the gym on Monday night, but tonight it was just tooooo hot. Vancouver set an all-time high temperature record today!!
