Wink I started Slimming World

My neighbour was telling me about Slimming World and how she has lost 40 pounds since being on it a few months ago (and you can really see she's lost weight). I started on the diet on Monday, and I know it's naughty, but I weighed myself this morning and lost a pound! It probably doesn't mean anything, tomorrow if I weigh myself it will probably say I've gained 2 pounds! My weight does fluctuate a lot, but this weight I am at now is the lowest I have been in a while.
Has anyone else tried Slimming World and how did you get on with it? So far I don't find it too bad, but it has only been 3 days!
I do have a little trouble putting whole meals together, I did wonder if anyone had any ideas for me? I have been eating loads of fruit and veg and I am mostly drinking water. I've only had one can of Coke in 3 days, which of course is 7 sins! I can't drink any diet drinks because the sweetener aspartame gives me migraine headaches, so I really can only drink water.
I haven't been to a class yet, my neighbour gave me the Original and Green day book which I've followed very closely and I've been writing down what I've been eating.
I wonder if anyone has any special tips?

Thanks for the support!

~Christine

Good Luck with it Christine, I couldn't get into their eating plan but many work mates go and are doing well.

Smile Slimming World

I've been to S W many times and have always had success. The only problem was myself - i'm a self-confessed saboteur. The diet was wonderful, allowing plenty to eat and a wide variety to choose from. I am starting on it again tomorrow (monday) with my 2 sisters. I can't afford to go to a class though but i have the books inc a number of S W recipe books. As for tips, i think the best one is: try not to eat too much of the same thing eg. don't have the same breakfast every day.
I hope you do well.

Default Slimming World

This is my first whole week on the diet, and I lost 2.5 pounds. Not bad, but my husband is on it too, and he hasn't even been on it a week yet and he's lost 8.5 pounds! Of course he has a lot more to lose than me.
I suppose 2.5 pounds isn't bad, at least I didn't see I weighed no differently or worse yet more!!
I feel a little bored on the diet, but then I haven't always used my Sins. I hope I can keep going!
Has anyone tried being on the diet during the week, but coming off on the weekends? My neighbour told me she knew people who did that and still lost weight.

Christine, coming off the diet at the weekends sounds like a good recipe for staying the same weight, /or a maintenance plan. I suppose it depends what you have at the weekend, for a steady weight loss. Just try to eat what you are allowed every day and try not to eat the same food too often, I am very guilty of getting in a rut by eating the same stuff all the time.

Christine, don't even think about it (not dieting at weekends) Some people may look as if they are getting away with it but all they are doing is cheating themselves.
You said you've not been using all your sins, well how about saving them up for the weekend then you can indulge yourself whilst still sticking to the diet (don't save sins over to the next week though!)
