Good morning, Ruth. I took the day off today, I was planning on doing nothing but decided to do a little gardening while it's still early in the day. You and all the other chickies have a great Friday, eh?

Morning - I think!

I am soooo stiff and sore this morning, I'm almost embarrassed to say that it is because I spent the entire day yesterday scrubbing 1 measly small bathroom and didn't even get it quite finished!!!!! (of course, that time also included a couple of hours for sorting and clearing out the medicine cabinet and under the sink, too! I hope that qualifies as my excercise - cause I sure had no energy for anythiing else! Today will be more of the same - boy! sure hope I find a job soon!!!!!

Officially summer, wow, Ruth - that sounds sooooo terrific. No matter how old I get (and it happens quicker each year!) that word "Summer" just makes me happy - happy as it gets closer and thrilled for it to be here ! hmmmmm if I could only afford it, I wouldn't even look for a job until it was over! Well, I hope everyone has a great day, and definitely enjoy this first day of summer!

I am also glad summer has finally arrived--a long wait for it that's for sure!

Well, I did it. I am now a member of the board of directors for Muskoka Family Focus and Children's Place. I may even be the secretarty (I'm not sure yet) Dh thinks I'm foolish but in reality, I really want to be involved so I can ensure quality programming and funding for my dd at her daycare and the drop in center we go to. The organization handles all the drop ins, 2 daycare centers, toy lending, and an early years resource center. As it is, I hae already had my nomination and acceptance and my first board meeting all in one night. All I can say is YIPES! we have a funding crisis on our hands and now we had better get creative to solve it!

Enough about that, looking forward to a really lovely weekend, and probably taking some time off to go and get dd a swingset!

Have a good one everyone!

Default yippeee yahooo!!!

it's friday, and the usual early birds are up so that leens and i don't have to confuse each other with starting up at the same time!!!

good morning!!! it's lovely out there.

and the 'pup' [that 70 pound or so rottweiler!!! some pup!!!!] got to sleep with mom last night, so everyone was happy. except maybe mom's cat, although the two do get along fairly well.

TOM showed up, and it's still an unwelcome surprise, but it'll end. at least i won't be compulsive about getting a weight until it's gone. maybe the whoosh fairy will bring me a happy surprise!!!

peachie and i have to get organized. not a pretty word for either of us. and i'm going clothes shopping again tomorrow [can you all say SALE!!!???] with my last unemployment check.

and, by the way, that's a great mystery of life. i freelanced full time for the last 2 weeks of may, yet the unemployment office decided to send me a check as well. i TOLD them i was freelancing, but they sent more money anyway!!!!!

and sam and rosie's grandma... settle down!!!! relax!!!! have something cold to drink!!! plan where we're meeting at the nyc chick meet [i do indeed like the idea of the 2nd avenue deli, but peachie likes to eat ham and cheese sandwiches..]

have a great day, ya'll...

Jiff, I have some really pretty baby doll shirts that I would love to give to you but I know you don't like small flower prints on them and thats exactly what they have....well 2 do and 2 don't. If you would like them just to wear for one week untill your skinny butt hits another size smaller, your welcome to them. They are in excellent condition.

Ruthie, I'm so jealous of you sitting on your deck having coffee this am....can I come over, I promise I won't talk

Age, Pookie, Sams, NORA !!, and anyone else to come have a WONDERFUL weekend.

HUGS & KISSES, Leens

Talking Happy Friday !!

Good morning everyone! DH had an early meeting so I get to sneak over (in pj's) and chat a bit!

Ruth I'd love to sit on your front porch sipping something cold and looking out at your meadow! Trouble is, I might actually get so relaxed I wouldn't leave!

Jif~have fun shopping! I still haven't gone-unfortunately I'm looking at a size larger than last year! Darn stress! Yes, do wish ya'll get organized so I can follow your lead! lol

Leens~nayked AND fluffing??? lmao! Hope nobody sneaks in on you!

Barb~Hope you're having a great time in Ct.. When are you coming back? Are you still in for the Hotlanta get together?

Pooky~Good luck on your new position! I'm not good at the politics it sometimes takes for those things! I even dropped out of the PTA over it! Hope all goes well!

Sams~Scrubbing bathrooms should definately count as excercise! I have ceramic tiles (shower & floor) they are a **tch to scrub! Up and down-aaargh! You use alot of muscles!

noranora~Why is it when we women are off from "work" we just end up doing some other form? Hope you enjoy your gardening!

to lurkers and those to come!

Much of the same-0 same-0 here today. I did not get the office finished yesterday-nor the laundry. I spent over an hour on the phone with the IRS making sure ammended returns were received for FOUR years! Designed a mailout flier for real estate salesman stepson, edited a dramatic letter to dear friends (to be ex) boyfriend, lunch with dh, dinner, etc.. Somewhere I lost the momentum to bust hiney in this nasty office! I am going to enjoy a manicure and pedicure this morning! Oops, better shave these legs! Hey Peach, that's why nails/toes match! I let her do them!

Everyone have a great day!

Sigh .... opening the door and walking out to the darkly stained deck with a silver tray in hand. Pouring my coffee I then take my seat in the plushness of the linen covered chairs and just enjoy sitting on the deck, having coffee & breakfast, over looking the riverbed, trickling with water in the cool misty morning, while the warmth of the sun peeks through the fog .... sigh.

At least I can dream, right?

Pooky, GOOD FOR YOU! I say there is no greater importance than making sure the people who care for your child are well equiped! Being an involved parent is fundamental! I don't think you are foolish one bit!

Today I am wrapping up the computer room -- yesterday I GOT MOST OF IT DONE!!! Which means I have to get through some eBay payments that rolled in while I was traveling and then get the items shipped off.

I also think I will take the girls strawberry picking today! Denali is really wanting to go and I remember when I would go as a kid and it was SO much fun. Maybe I'll make some jam and save it for Christmas gifts????

Right now I need more coffee and to daydream about that river. See you all later!

OH -- PS: I drank ALL my water yesterday and I've already got half in for today! I am on the road to recovery -- just need to break that darned cookie habit!!!

Good morning,
It is bright and sunny in NY and looking like a great day for a swim. I went skinny dipping last night in the pool in the moonlight. It was beautiful and relaxing.
My little man has been trying to butt heads with me and I finally had enough of him last night. Lets just say he woke up with and I love you mommy and lets have a better day today.

Jenni,
glad to see you made it east.

Happy First Day of Summer Everyone!!!! It is going to be a true scorcher here today--up in the 90's and sultry (as in I will be truly glistening when I work outside today) DS is up at football and I just got done making out my menus and grocery list for next week. I need to go to the "big city" this afternoon and get groceries and buy a wedding gift for tomorrow. I also still want to get in my exercise today--that would make 8 days in a row for me--which since college that would be a FIRST! DS had 2 basketball games last night and they won them both. It is exciting and new to be having a really winning season! The very new, very young Varsity coach coached them last night because their regular coach couldn't be there. He did an excellent job--motivating, encouraging, coaching, complimenting. We have never had that since we've lived here. It is wonderful! He gave DS the nickname "Sparkplug" or "Sparky" and actually shook his hand after the first game and told him what a great job he did hustling and on defense. DS glowed the rest of the night. I truly am not bragging here-we have had a time with negative coaches and this fresh breeze blowing in feels good! Okay, enough of that. Busy day today and tomorrow-shopping, 2 more basketball games tomorrow out of town and then a wedding and reception (also out of town) Doing great on exercising and doing "pretty good" on the eating too---haven't weighed myself since the , but will do so on Mon.

jenniwookie, I remember going berry picking as a kid--it was like a treasur hunt--we loved it.

Janice, it sounds like you had a full day yesterday without battling the spiders!! Wow, you got a lot done!

Leens, LOL, I am picturing this office.......Too funny! Have a good day.

jif, hey if the government wants to send you money I wouldn't say no--seems like it is usually the other way around--enjoy your shopping trip!

Pooky, Congrats on your position! Lots of work I'm sure, but I know you can handle it. Will we have to call you "Madame Secretary" now?

Samsgrandma, cleaning the bathroom ABSOLUTELY counts as exercise--what a job!

L, You snuck in there on me. Skinnydipping in the moonlight, boy that really sounds like summer!! Hope you and your DS have a better day today.

Hello to everyone else and all to come. Have a good day.

Good Afternoon to all,

I am sitting here anxiously awaiting rain. We have hi humidity, hi temps, dark clouds and no rain. Those crazy weather guys keep saying it is coming and I am putting my trust in them We really need a good shower, and I do love a thunderstorm!

We sat and melted last night at the ball game. And another reason I would love some rain, is so Don's game can be cancelled (i hate to say). But he has had a long exhausting week at camp and he could really stand to come home and rest for the evening. He also has two games Saturday.

AdoAnnie, YOU make a menu for the week! OH MY! I have always wanted to be so organized, but never stuck with it. It would make life so much simpler. Good for you staying on your exercise program. And Kudos to your ds's coach, we need more like him.

SamsG..sounds like you are working too hard. Take a coffee break and put your feet up.

Pooky, congrats on your board membership, sounds like a great position for you, although I still want you to start a home decorating business. I will be thinking of you tonight as I go through our local Parade of Homes. Aaron's (my cousin watching the boys) grandma told me about one house that has each room theme painted. One bathroom is done in ladie bugs.

Jif, glad there were better sleeping arrangements last night. Have fun Sale shopping. I love sales.

Janice, glad you are taking some time to pamper yourself. Enjoy the manicure and pedicure.

JenniW sounds like you should be a romance novel writer, your words painted such a pretty picture of a backyard stream, I could hear the trickling of the water and smell the aroma of java!

L - skinny dipping you brave soul!

Sue, what interview are you referring to, did you find a new Job?

Wishing all a great OP weekend!
