Hi all!
Thanks!!!
Well we had our Christmas and my husband gave me the most wonderful gift (besides a palm pilot to do ww better).
He and the kids got my tribute to Bucky off of the Rainbow Bridge site and took it to Kinkos and got 4 copies printed on four different prints, 2 beautiful (waterfalls, rainbow bridge type) and two with Bones and pawprints. He bought a beautiful frame for it (8x10) and Britts fitted the waterfall one and put it in the frame and wrapped it. but this is the one that made really cry: He went to the vets and got Bucky's ashes. They gave them to him in a beautiful box so Bruce went and got a nameplate at "Things remembered" and got a picture of a dog engraved on it with Bucky's name and his birth and death dates and glued it on and then had the boys glue his tags under his nameplate. Then Bruce unscrewed the box and put in his collar. When I opened the frame I got misty eyed but when I opened the other, Brittany and I cried.
That meant so much!!!!
I just wanted to share!!!!
I lost .5 today and got the new program. I can't wait to go full force in Jan.
Hope you all had a great day!
Terri, I'm all teary eyed over here. What a gift. You will cherish it forever. Do you think you will get another dog in the future? Bucky cannot be replaced but they do bring joy into our homes, don't they?
Congrats on .5 I'm looking forward to the new program. I'll be patient
How's it going Jen? I didn't read #32 which I should have before I opened this page.
I'm doing pretty good. Back on my exercise routine. My calves are killing me. I did Step Reebok yesterday & I feel like I ran a marathon. That's what happens when we slack up. I'm going to TRY & exercise everyday till Christmas Eve. As soon as the new program gets here (Jan. 2nd) I will rejoin. I'm looking forward to it.
Dianne, how are you? Are you all set for the holidays? I only work 2 days next week! LOVE IT! Mon. & Wed. I took off Tuesday. Have to go for my PAP & the appt is early so right after I have to pick up hubby's anniversary gift. Thursday I took a vacation day & I'm off Fridays! I'm looking forward to being off a couple of days.
Myra, are you feeling better? I hope so.
Well, let me go browse a bit. I'm staying home today. Pete is out Christmas shopping. I told him good luck. The weather is very gloomy today so I decided to stay home & spend some time on the computer & wrap the few gifts I have left.
Hi all. Been OP since Wednesday. Hopefully it will be a good weigh in this week. I'm feeling a lot better both physically and mentally. I am determined to make 2001 the year I get back to goal.
Terri, glad you'll be able to stay with 3FC. I'll miss you on e-groups though.
Myra,
I found out that I can do e-groups too. I will just reply through the website. yippee! I will need the support up there.
I just won't be able to read the e-mails. Govt. is picky that way. LOL
I have to remember to set them for website only so I don't come home to hundreds of e-mails. Good luck and congrats to being op and feeling better.
Essie-
Glad you are back to the exercising. Fun huh? Thanks for the kind words. We are going to rescue a puppy again most likely in Jan. A lot of people get "rid" of their
Pups after Christmas.
Enjoy your days off. FUN!!!
Terri, what a beautiful, loving gift you received. You are blessed with a great husband and family. Isn't life wonderful? I can understand wanting to go the a shelter to chose a new puppy. I could never buy a dog when there are so many looking for people to love. You must be looking forward to seeing your family in Ohio. What day are you leaving? Have a safe journey, and a great visit with your loved ones.
Essie, you go!!! Great job on exercising!
I hope you enjoy your days off...it's so important to have the time during the holidays. And you have a wedding aniversary coming up! Congratulations!
Myra, I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better and on the road to goal. I know exactly what you mean about seeing 2001 being your year. Good luck on your weigh in!
Dianne, how are you? This is such a busy time....am thinking of you and your huge family! It must be hectic and happy.
We had a very nice weekend; the kids made a huge snowman on our front lawn for Brandon. We're expecting cold weather all week, so "Frosty" should be around to greet our guests on Christmas day.
Well girls, I've not been going to meetings, or weighing in on a regular basis, but things are going to change. I'm going to be one of the thousands of "newbies" who join (again!!!) in January. No more fooling myself and saying I can do it on my own.
Hi Jen,
Thanks. Bruce is pretty special. I just can't stand thinking of those little wonderful pets needing a home.
We are leaving on Friday, early.
It takes about 12 hours to get to my mom and dad's house. We may stop in Columbus (3 hrs. before you get to my mom's)and stay til' Christmas Eve morning. Then we'll go in together to my moms. Rushed but fun. The schools used to get out around the 17th but this year they get out the 22nd. Too late if you ask me.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
What are your plans? I'm sure they involve those little grandsons.
Hi everybody!
Terri
Myra, I am so happy to hear you are feeling much better. 2001 is going to be a great year for all of us What is e-groups?
Terri, sounds like you will have a great time with your family. 12 hours of driving The longest I've ever been on the road was 4 hrs & Pete did all the driving. I'm not too crazy about driving but it's necessary in Long Island.
Jen, so you have Frosty hanging out in your front lawn. He must look really cute We are supposed to get some snow/sleet starting tonight. I'll believe it when I see it. Sometimes their predictions are wrong. I would love to have snow for Christmas. After tomorrow so I won't have to drive in it.
We are in the same boat with WW. That's okay "for now" cause come Jan. 2001 we will be ready to ROCK!!! I'm pretty psyched about the new program. If it has to do with activity/exercise I'm all for it.
Well, ladies I have to get ready for a Drs. appt. Going for my annual PAP(lucky me). Hopefully I won't be stuck there for 2 hrs. They are sooooo slow. I have to go buy Pete's CD walkman right after, then I will be home the rest of the day. I haven't watched my soaps in 2 days so I'll be able to catch up & exercise. Probably will go on my treadmill while I watch them.
Have a great day everyone

E-groups is a grouping of e-mail lists. Terri and I belong to a few that are for WW support, but they have groups for everything. I also belong to a group of yoga enthusiasts. The way it works is when you e-mail the group everyone on the list gets the e-mail. It is like one huge, albeit slow, chat at times. The people on the list really get to know each other with the more active lists. You could check it out at www.egroups.com.
e-groups is fun! The support is great and constant. There always seems to be someone around when you need them. I love it there and here too of course. I have great friends on both!
Essie, I used to drive 20 when we lived in Fl.
Terri
Can you tell? -- I'm really getting into the Christmas spirit now, LOL.
Jen -- thanks for thinking of me and my huge family, LOL. Yes, things are a bit hectic, but since I started my shopping in October, I had a good head start. I have 12 grandchildren and they each get 3 presents, so that's 36 presents for grandchildren alone. That's not counting nieces/nephews, our own children and their spouses and various other friends & family. YIKES, I think I will become a Jehovah's Witness next year, just so I don't have to give out presents (just kidding -- hope no one takes offense) -- just a little religious humor!
I can just picture your frosty the snowman - I bet the grandsons will love it!
Essie - hey, girl -- back to that exercising, huh? Good job. Great that you have the days off this week, you can finish up any last minute shopping, etc. I took Friday and then, since we are a university, I have off from Friday to the day after New Years, so I'm looking forward to that. My daughter and I will bond some during that time, plus I will take care of all medical issues, etc.
Happy Anniversary to you and Pete, when is it?
Terri - I don't envy you your car trip to Ohio. I know what it's like, my sister-in-law lived in Cleveland and I went a total of 2 times in 5 years to see her -- I hated that trip, especially with kids. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be fine and will be prepared with books, etc. for the kids.
Myra - glad to hear that you are doing better, must be a big relief.
Jen & Essie -- It looks like I'm in the same boat as you guys (hope we don't sink!) with ww. I'm just starting all over on Jan. 1st and I refuse to feel guilty about it. WE CAN DO IT!!!
Dianne,
Since we do this twice a year we have a conversion van with a T.V. and VCR. I actually enjoy the car trip. I sometimes get into the movie and then 2 hours flies by. This year though I will have to drive some with my poor husband's leg still not 100%.
WOW Dianne. That is a lot of presents. I don't know how y'all do it.
My husband's grandma, who just died this year at 90, had 11 kids, 29 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She managed not to forget anyone. It was amazing. We always told her to not worry about it but she just couldn't. She loved Christmas. It will be sad without her this year.
Jen,
Hope you are still enjoying Frosty. I hope we can do that this year up in Ohio.
Terri, have a safe trip. We'll be looking forward to hear all about it.
Dianne, you are too funny. (LOL) My anniversary is on Xmas Eve. 12 grandchildren! I can't wait to have one. My son just can't seem to find the right girl. I keep telling him he'll know when the right one comes along. We are going to spend all day together tomorrow. He wants me to help him pick out some gifts. I am looking forward to it. We have a great time together. We talk about everything.
Myra, I'll check out e-groups this weekend.
Let me get ready for work I wish I would have taken the whole week off.
