Hard to believe May is almost over!!!

Just finished a 2 mile walk at the park, I was bored stiff at the Y yesterday so I decided on a change of pace. IT was nice and it gets light so early that it was safe too!!! I was surprised how many people were there at 6:00 am.

Gotta go get ready for work, I was going to go in late today but the guilts are getting me....gotta get over that.

Morning, Chickies!

Got lots of gardening done yesterday - well, planted the stuff I'd bought - and also started training Ashley who is going to be my assistant. She is 12 and has a good attitude. Her Mum died quite suddenly three years ago (only 38) and Ashley is quite mature. She really really wants some new clothes - bucks are a bit tight in her house. Nice kid - I hope she works out. She is Kevin the Fence Dude's daughter.

Back down to 204.5 after a spike to 208.5 early in the week. Someday I will be able to figure this out! Anyhow, am not going to worry about it over the weekend. If I want homefries with breakfast on Sunday with the NJ Chicks, I'll have them!

Big day ahead - have already been to the Office to catch up on bills and now am tackling the foothills of Mount Laundry. Need to decide what to take to NJ - have my passport, US money and estrogen - maybe that's all I need! (Garden folk are very casual dressers so I never worry.) Just to add another twist to the day, Lucy has to go to Morna's at 5:30 for the weekend and to start her show training - I expect a completely changed puppy when I get back on Sunday.

Today is a rainy and muddy day, darn it! Our re-upholstered sofa arrived back last night and looks great. Now we need to train two dogs to stay OFF - should never have let them get up on the old one. Methinks they will be confined to the kitchen a lot today.

I hope everyone has an excellent weeked. Nora and I will probably check in from Rosemarie's (Rubirose). Wish you were all going to be at The Prestige Diner on Sunday. (Maybe they will have to change the name after our visit - The No-Class Diner? what's the opposite of prestige?)

Morning Scooby! Morning Ruth! Morning and Afternoon and Evening to all who come later!

I am feeling a bit scattered today! I THOUGHT I had my day lined up with tons of things to do BUT then DH informs me that HE is going to take the van and there shoots all my well organized plans!

Don't let your husbands retire

Going up to see my step daughter in law tomorrow. She had a miscarriage and I want to look at her at give her a plant out of my garden, but I am not quite sure what to dig up. I have some wonderful hosta and some beautiful peonies, a nice big bleeding heart and some pretty swell colored day lilies BUT I am not sure of what her "sun" situation is! The bleeding heart and hosta would be the "safe" bet but the others make a better show! PLUS she is a bit fussy and likes things just so which is soooooooooo not me!

oh well, I'll just take my shovel out and let it point the way!

cub scouts and baseball today with no time for homework in between...THANK YOU to the wonderful teachers who give out homework passes LOVE YOU!!!!!!

The lizards are happy...they are kind of cute but now the little guy wants tadpoles !!

later!

I'm watching our doggy, Goldie, as I type. He spent the day yesterday at the vet. We noticed that his ear was swollen and droopy on Sunday. I thought it might have been an insect bite, but yesterday, it appeared to have blood in it. He was anesthesized(sp?) and they found a blood vessel had burst. Also, there was a wood tick. The vet figured that the tick made him itchy and he scratched too hard. He came home all drugged up and with a red bandage on his head. Poor doggy had a rough night last night, but since the bandage is off, he seems better.

Now I can't mow our golf course (lawn) today since he would get just crazy if he couldn't be loose and "help" me. Maybe tomorrow I'll do it.

See you all later!

Last day of preschool for dd 4 today....

DD10 never wants to go to sleep at night...can't seem to turn her head off, but then she doesn't want to get up in the morning either!

Off to buy plants today and hope to clean up the garden and shovel out the house...we shall see how I do!

Hope you all have a great day!

Morning all,

I have been out of sorts lately or as dh calls it grumpy. I think I am back to myself today. He took the boys to baseball last night and ordered me to take a quiet bath and go to bed early, well I did and it worked wonders.

I am going on a first grade field trip Friday. My boys are in school until June 7.

Scooby, sounds like a great walk. When I do go to the Y it is at 5:45. I love it then, I can do my circut in about half the time because there is only 4-5 people there when I arrive. By the time I leave at 6:30 it starts filling up.

Ruth, glad you are back down again. How nice of you to help Ashley out. Sounds like she needs a little bit of you in her life.

Peachie, hope your visit is nice with your sdil, it is so very nice of you to bring her a gift.

AdoAnnie, nice to see you back, I have been wondering about you. I know how swamped I am as a parent at the end of school, I can only imagine what a teacher must go through.

Yuck, Tippy, there is nothing I hate more than TICKS! Poor doggie.

Liz, can I borrow your shovel? Think that is what I need. I often use a black giant garbage bag and start in one corner and go to the next.

Have an op day!

Angry Hi from a newbie!

Hey there! I am new to this area of the board. I used to do Sugar Busters and I posted there for a while, but the nutritionist at my doctor's office has put me on the low-carb plan. So here I am - looking for some new buddies! I have been looking around at the recipe section and finding lots of ideas to try.

I was really interested in reading that someone stopped losing when they were eating the protein bars. I think I am having the same problem! I have lost 33 pounds so far (Since 2-02), but I have been STUCK there for 4 weeks now. I was eating the bars for breakfast and also for a snack between lunch and dinner (if I needed it). I also was really diligent about drinking my water but I have become lazy lately. Anyone have any good ideas to get me back on track?

I hope everyone has a great day and I am looking forward to getting to know you! Amy

Dondar or is it Grumpy ?? lol just bustin yah, glad your feeling like your self ...... it sucks to be out of sorts. When I'm like that the only thing I want is the TV a good cup of coffee w/hazlenut milk and LOTS OF CHOCOLATE M&M w/pnuts...you know

Ruthie how will we all know eachother, should we wear 3FC signs HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA or should I just keep the crumbs on my boobs from breakfast, you should spot me then ???? LOL ROFLMFFFAO

Peach thats really nice of you to take the time for you SDIL I had a miscarriage right before I got pregnant with Grace (Ask Ruthie and Tippy they remember) I felt like a mental case....NO WISE CRACKS !!!! but honestly, its nice to know people care and these girls here on this site really helped me, more than they know.

I spent 4 hours in the hospital this morning with my Mother, she was crying so bad this morning that her hand hurt (she watches Grace for me) so I took her to the Emergency Room (Peach & Jiff, Valley Hospital in Ridgewood) and we waited 4 hours. They had wall to wall people with ONE doctor, people were crying, and screaming it was aweful...anyway Mom's okay its arthritis that had really set in and she just couldn't bear the pain anymore. I just wanted to make sure she didn't have a fracture or anything else.

ANYHOO I'm at work now, Peach & Jiff, I left messages at your home. Give me a call if you can.

TTYL, LOVE ME !!!!!!!!!

Default It's 3:00 PM

It's mid afternoon here in Dallas and I took a few minutes form work to post. Nothing's going on with me this week. I've been really good to keep my carbs down and my water down (my throat). But the scales haven't moved. I'm ont complaining, I've lot 9.75 pounds so far, but it is fun to see it nose down even if it's only 1/4 pound.

I'm reading the book "Low Carb Lifestyle" right now. It's written by someone named Fran something, soid she wrote the Low Carb Cookbook. I'm finding it really interesting because she sorta compares all the major low carb plans. I'm learning a lot too.

Leens -- Sorry to hear about your mum. I've heard moist heat helps. If you don't have a moist heat pad (a special pad you soak in a pot of hot water and then apply to the sore area), try a hand-towel. Just soak it in a sink of hot water (as hot as she can stand it. Wrap it around her hand where it's sore and cover it with another dry towel. My mom's elderly neighbor does this for her arthitis. She says it helps a little (along with her meds).

I was so siked about going to the gym tonight! It was to be my second swim class (missed Monday due to scheduling issues with DH). Well, while dreaming about the gym, I was getting DD ready for her concert -- TONIGHT! Man! How could I have forgotten? The concert starts at 7:00 -- the class starts at 7:30 (in different towns). Guess I will be missing another class. DARN! But I missed both of her concerts this year (once for DS6 being ill and once for my being ill) so I couldn't miss this last concert of the year. I promised to video tape it for her mom (DH's ex).

Oh, well. I volunteered to cover "field day" at DS6's school tomorrow. His teacher told me it should be finished up around noon so I'll have him go to the after-school daycare and go straight to the gym from the field day. That way I can get in my exercise and jacuzzi (LOVE it!) tomorrow. DH is taking DD to ex's house tomorrow night so he can't watch DS6 in the evening. At least I should still be able to attend the swim class on Saturday AM.

Oh -- I almost forgot! I'm down another 2 pounds!!! And I'm PMSing really bad to boot! I figure if I'd actually be eating properly (less refined carbs) and not eating the GD craved potato chips I probably would have done even better. Guess the exercise is paying off. I've been getting in at least 20 minutes of motion a day since Saturday (that is a MAJOR accomplishment for me!).

Gotta go. Have to find something quick but nutritious for the "singer" before she has to be at the high school.

Talking Hello, hello!!

So glad tomorrow is Friday (and payday!!) that I'm laughing a little about this situation. At work today we had a call in appointment for 11 a.m. Usually people call the day before. Anyway, after the appt. comes in, here come 3 of our big bosses. They sat there the whole time, it was so strange. Then, finally, they walked through the door in the middle of the appointment! Ta-da!! Fake customer, really was hired to come in and evaluate our staff. Hmmmm, feels like Big Brother is Watching to me. Anyway, it was funny!

I'm eating so good it's amazing. Well, my pants are a little looser today and so is my bra! Let's not have this discussion today, though!

Ya'll have a wonderful busy day and I'll talk to you tomorrow!

Angry Hi all!

Please forgive me for my quick in and out. The last few days have been trying to say the least.

I've not caught up on everyone's posts, but am really enjoying all the lit up "bulbs" when I logged on!!!

Just wanted to say hi and I THINK I can post further tomorrow. Does anyone remember that I was preparing for an audit the first of May? Well gee, the state comptroller said we should hear something in a month or two?!! Yes well, TOMORROW morning, less than ONE MONTH we have a meeting with him. Prayers for my ulcers are greatly appreciated!

Hopefully I can catch up with everyone tomorrow. I'm envious of the Joisy reunion! Someone please post pics!

Thanx for the PM's I've received. Your returns are coming soon!
