Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone did okay yesterday. I didn't do as good as I intended to, but I remembered this morning that we had started a new contest last week while I was gone, and keeping that food diary is one of the rules. So today, I'm keeping it!

Not much going on this morning, I wanted to get the thread started. I think that I will start another for the daily food journal, maybe that will keep me OP.

CC and Summer, where are you? Everyone needs a BIG dose of those vibes.

Nita

Default back

Hi-i'm back. Doing pretty good just a lot going on still with dad. We have a meeting today, and I'm not sure how it will go. This whole situation has me very sad. he is still in the hospital, and problems change daily. I had a loss after srd, and one other lady that went did too. The rest of the chapter gained. While at srd, one chapter didn't have one gain for the whole year. 13 members. We as a group found that hard to believe. But glad they did it. One lady lost 188 pounds. She was runner up.
Anyway. I know we can do this ladies. So lets get moving.
Take care
me.
ps can anyone explain to me chapter royality, And the whole nine yards on the srd winnings. I understand the before and after parade, and will be able to do it next year. (if I continue to get this off). Devision winners must be with in the year, correct. and when does all this information need to be put in. Also what about the walking program?
has anyone heard from cc
how is everyone doing.

Thumbs down

Hi everyone,
I hope all of you that weighed in on monday had a good report.
Nita, I have not heard of Bextra. How long have you been on it? I am on Celebrex. Supposed to take two a day, but the Doc says I can take 3 a day if needed, though insurance won't cover that size a dose, so I only take the third at bedtime if I am really uncomfortable. I have found that if I change my medicine every year, I get better results. Actually, one of my Doctors told me to try that many years ago. Have been on the celebrex for 2 years now.
Sherri, I was trying to figure out your weight loss, but was confused with the figures on your signature. I thought the three numbers were...starting weight, present weight, and goal weight. If that is so, you are 10 pounds below goal weight. But maybe I have it wrong. Straighten me out, ok?

Wendy, congratulations on losing over sRD. Did the ones who gained the ones who stayed longer? You are doing good. It is hard when you have the stress with the concerns for you Dad. Keep up the good work. (And it IS work, isn't it!) I am with you, I can't believe that 8 people had no gains for a whole year!!!

I have been thinking of starting a Summer Challenge for my chapter. It would be to lose 10% of their weight in the three months. ie: If one weighs 220 pounds the first week in June, she is challenged to lose 22 pounds by the last week in August. Each one that meets the challenge will receive a "goal acheived " charm. Does that sound interesting to you? Should there be another tangible prize to go with the charm? And what do I do about the one member who has only 3 pounds to go to reach KOPS? I would appreciate any input on this idea as I would like to present it next Thursday.

Also, I am the only one in the chapter who keeps a food journal. how can i convince the other members to try it. I know they would have better weight losses if they wrote down what they eat, but none are doing it. Any suggestions?

I hope everyone has a great op day.
Mary ann

Sounds good mary ann-
on the 8 that had a no gain year (was a chapter of at least 13).
I think it's great. Plus, i guess that includes turtles. So if they stayed the same was ok.
in our group we all ended up leaving at the same time.
So those that gained was there as long as I was. I just didn't eat at the buffet every time, and I tried to watch portion control. But that could all change with the stress that i'm under. Did good till last night, had a candy bar. But back on track today. With the food journel, i know i do better, but i start it and don't finish it. Maybe if you give them 7 pieces of paper. Let them fill out the days they can, or at least start and see what happens. Or have them commit to one day one week,
2 days week 2
3 and so on, if that doesn't work. Try 1 day a week for a month. Then go to 2 days for 1 month and ect. Or you can go 1 meal a day for a week, ect.
Sherri-how are you doing? CHRISTIAN<Penny<Eleni<Sher<NIta<cc<coco<

Wendy, thank you. I really like the idea of keeping a journal one day a week to start. I think I will suggest that this week. Maybe do 1 day a week for 2 weeks, then 2/week for 2 weeks...That would take 14 weeks to keep the whole week, and that would coincide with the end of our 10% challenge. that sounds like a plan. thanks again.
