Default does your food lood gross

I just made the most wonderful taco salad ish thing minus any type of shell. It has lots of lettuce, lots of corn, salsa, lean ground beef, a little bit of shredded cheese and a little bit of sour cream. I heated it all up and mixed together. Honestly, it looks absolutely gross and probably anyone but me would turn it down.

So my question to you.....does the food you make for your healthy you look nasty

Actually, I find just the opposite to be true.

Well, I bet it looked fantastic layered up nice, it's just after you stir it all up that it sometimes looks gross.

I kinda have that problem - I try to put too much into every dish, and then it's kind of a mess. At first I didn't care, but now it kinda bugs me. But I'm getting better.

I have to agree with you on that Ugly Fat Friend....I've seen people eat some stuff that it's just gross because I know how unhealthy it is.

I was just thinking about it while I was eating that if I ordered what I made from somewhere I wouldn't eat it because it looked terrible ha!

It's weird too because generally I don't like my food touching, but that was just calling to be mixed

Well, when I make taco salad, I don't mix everything together. I put down a bed of lettuce and put the tomatoes and/or salsa on it. I cook the ground beef and spices together, perhaps with onion if I'm using that. Then I put the cooked meat mixture in the middle of the lettuce, add some drained corn on top (if I didn't cook it in with the meat), put the shredded cheese on top of that, and the sour cream on top of that, or as a dollop on the side. It looks more like a salad that way.

How your food looks is all about how you arrange it. I find that the better I make something look on a plate, the more enthusiastic I am about eating it regardless of whether it's healthy or not. I agree with JayEll, don't mix up the ingredients! Layer them or leave them in sections like a restaurant would with a cobb salad. Sometimes I even garnish my home made food because it makes me feel like I'm eating gourmet and not diet!

Nope. I find that if the food I make doesn't look tasty I don't like it as much so I put special effort into making everything look good.

Sometimes my food looks gross, sometimes it looks restaurant-quality, it all just depends on the recipe. I'm all about taste; the looks aren't that important to me.

One of my favorite dishes is super tasty, but I also love it because it is just so pretty, even stirred up. It has brown basmati plus wild rice, pine nuts, black and green olives, roasted orange and yellow bell peppers, and chopped fresh basil. I think it's my prettiest dish, and that really does add to the enjoyment.

Don't mix it, layer it. Eat it that way. Corn is not so good, high in carbs and cals.

Every time I make gazpacho, which I really love, I think that it looks like something that, if it were spilled on a sidewalk, I'd be very, very careful to step around. So yeah, it happens sometimes. Some color combinations are iffy.

Generally, though, my plate looks fairly attractive, even if not like food porn.

Saef- that's too funny....I try to make my food look decent, but sometimes it just doesn't turn out that way.

I mixed this particular dish because i wanted a little bit of everything in each bite

I thinking mixing it up and putting it in the microwave would be gross.... seems kinda i don't know.. .weird...lol

I tried boca/ veggies burgers just because I know their healthier and I'm trying to keep my mind open with my new lifestyle them a few ties made a few different ways and I just hate the way they look when their cooked in the pan.. ewwww.. I can't get over plus I don't like the taste.. So Just because i'm on a diet doesn't meen I cant have the foods I love anymore it just meens I get to have it less often and in smaller portions or I find a healthy alternative to making it..
