Pooky,

Thanks for posting this, I've said for years how bad that stuff is (yes I do drink a diet soda occasionally) I have friends that will only give it to their kids, they don't believe it is bad OYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!! its a darn chemical its not natural of course its bad. Its one thing if adults want to drink it but geeee for crying out loud, don't give it to kids. I'm pretty sure they've even banned it in certain parts of the world.

My boss use to laugh at me when I said it was bad. She started getting heart palpations and finally realized what it was (NUTRASWEET). She appologized and stopped taking it.

I believe in moderation and sparingly its okay but watch out ladies, I do believe this article is right.

MY OPINION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Love, Leens

That Stuff is pure poison.

I started drinking Pepsi One a few years ago and after 2 weeks I suddenly began having panic attacks. I went on-line and read about the causal link, quit the nutrasweet and within a week the attacks had vanished never to return again.

Now I use Splenda in my coffee and shakes, it hasn't bothered me at all. I drink DietRite soda, about a 2 liter a week, it's also Splenda sweetened.

My kids love the Diet Rite and I am really on the fence about it. I mean it is utterly nutritionally empty no calories, no sodium, no caffeine, and I don't feed my kids any junk. I think Splenda is safe but it's still not a natural substance, I don't know, I don't let them have soda because it's so full of teeth rotting sugar so an occassional diet rite makes them feel less deprived.

Tough call, everything in moderation I guess.

Thanks,
I use this stuff sparingly. I drink diet soda when I can't get my poland springs bottled water. (big stomach porblems with Crohn's and Colitis). I NEVER let my kids have this stuff. Even a sip of my diet soad is off limits. Sugar free gum too. (ok I must use more than I think).
I do think that this is unhealthy for kids and would rather they have the real sugar than the chemical. I knew I was not alone in this but I am suprised by how many parents feed the kids the DIET and sugar free foods.

Default Thanks!

I appreciate the link.... I'm a Diet Coke addict.... Terribly so... I don't even want to try to guess at how much I drink. It's one of my biggest problems at this time. When I looked through the list of related symptoms.... and risks tied in to aspartame.... Well, it scares me.

I don't normally post in the low-carb threads. I've just been surfing tonight. I'm still at a loss as to where this path of change will take me! LOL! Searching continuously for the lifestyle that I've always dreamed of
