It's a sunny, cold day here in Toronto. I'm headed off to do some errands, go to a movie, and take Jake, the dog, to the vet to get his leg checked out. He stumbled as he climbed the stairs this morning
Happy Holidays all. It is ver cold here too with lots of snow. Are you all ready for the festivities? I still have some last minute stuff to do but I am not ready to brave the icy roads right now.
Just a question for you all. How do you handle the ups and downs of wi's? It seems I do fine during the week, making mostly good choices and for the poor ones (treats mostly) I have planned for yet some weeks I stay the same or even gain. How do you stay motivated?
Moving my post from the old thread to the new one.
Can't believe that the sun is shinning and the ice is melting off the roof tops, but the winds are still howling and are expect to die down some time this evening.
Thanks Ladies We hope that our trip is still on,our DD called right when I was posting, and said that GS still has a fever and hes coughing up flem. She told us that he doesn't know how to blow his nose and keeps it in,until he throws it up.She going to sterilize the house as much as she can,but she understands if we don't go down. She asked if we come down for New Years instead, but Leo has a doctors appointment than.
SO ITS STILL UP IN THE AIR.
Got on the scale today for my new Monday W-I day and I'm up 1 more pound.making it a total of 4 since Thanksgiving. Boy do I have to work on this weight next year.Looked at at my W-I journal & I noticed that I gained big pounds every year I go on those cruises.NO MORE CRUISES FOR ME.
Have to go ,have to get things done just in case we are going down to NY tomorrow.
I think most of us have highs and lows with motivation, and with WI's. But as long as we are on the right path most of the time, it will work out. We may not reach weight goals, but we will eat better food and move more often...and be happy for that.
Just got off the phone with my DD & I wanted to let your know that that the trip is on,DGS's fever broke and hes feeling like himself again. She waited until the girls got home from school and they are OK.
She told us that if they come down with anything during the night she will let us know before we make the long trip down.
So far its looks like we are going down to NY to spend some quality time with the family.
Have to get packed,so I bid you a good night, and I see you next Saturday.
WANT TO WISH YOUR ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY HANUKKAH
Vickie, Jake turned 10 in November. He weighs about 74 pounds and has the skinniest legs and ankles ever. I'm surprised he has been upright as long as he has. Hopefully, whatever he has will be responsive to medication.
Running errands this morning was easy, but as the day went on, it got a little crazy. However, I got all that I needed, had no trouble parking, didn't have any accidents, so all is well. It's snowing again so those poor commuters are going to have a slow trip.
I have all my Christmas presents for everyone wrapped and ready. Thank goodness I don't have to buy many; I'd never get it done! I did a lot of baking for my ex father-in-law and that's the best present ever.
Jake has oestoarthritis of the spine at the lumbar sacral junction. He will take Metacam then get checked in three weeks. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and can be hard on the stomach, liver and kidneys....but it could be worse. So, for now, we're relieved.
I've been a little crazy with my eating the last two days, but with all the baked goods around, I've probably done fairly well considering the temptation.
I hope you all have a good night. I made a beef stew with white kidney beans in the crock pot, and I'm looking forward to it.
Hi everyone. Its been really busy getting ready for Christmas -- between getting everything ready on top of the snow and ice, its been crazy. I'm doing my best food wise and I'm back on plan, hard core on Friday. I think thats the best I can do this week. Just too much going on to be perfect, but I'm doing my best.
Just in the past 3 days, I've been out to lunch 2 days, dinner 2 times, made and decorated sugar cookies with dd, made a batch of brownies and tomorrow I need to go to a local candy store to buy a few more things. I hope everyone is doing well.
Rhonda, I'm sorry to hear about your puppy. Our lab was on arthritis meds for a while - they did help him but after about 3 months he ended up with a very bad case of diarhea. So bad we needed to take him off for a while. We've been able to give him the pills once in a while when he seems bad. I've been giving him gloucosaime pills for dogs and those seem to have made a lot of difference. I hope you dog is ok, they are our babies.
