Paula, that is so cute about dd's getting up all night. I hope you got some rest today, though.

I think we're all glad that most of the temptations are behind us. One more week then back to normal.
  • So we had a HORRIBLE ice storm this morning. You'll see us on the news. There are cars spinning out on I-80 which is a main highway less than a quarter mile from my house. The temperature has been rising all day. Now we have terrible fog and we are to have heavy rains, thunderstorms, and possibly tornado warnings tomorrow. The huge piles of snow and ice are expected to melt in addition to the rain. Flooding is a HUGE concern. December has been a truly tough weather month.

I can't control the weather but I can control me. Now when will I start doing that?
  • Vickie: I've just seen the weather reports and was thinking about you. I've got friends on the west coasts of the U.S. and Canada and they are having lots of trouble too, but I think you folks are really getting hit. I hope you stay dry. As for "when?"....no time like the present! ...for all of us!

Paula, I enjoyed your story about your DD also....sweet!

    Rhonda
  • Vickie, stay safe. You'll get back on track when you're ready. The wake up call for me was that my feet started hurting again. We went to a tournament in Dallas that was along a walking trail. My feet hurt even though the terrain wasn't too steep. You're right about our not being able to always control what goes on around us, but we can control how we react.

Rhonda, I meant to ask you if you've finished your remodeling.

I had wi this morning. I maintained this week.
  • Oh, my. So I won the prize for last/first. Now how amazing is that?

I hope all of you are out there having a wonderful Saturday. We're staying at home. I'm trying to stay out of the fridge. Looks like I'm using some WPA's todeay. Life goes on.
  • We had a great day today. We watched DVD's at home then went to see Marley and Me. In between I cleaned up 1/2 of the kitchen. I'll do the other 1/2 tomorrow. You'd really laugh if you knew how small my kitchen is!

My eating was OK from a points perspective, but not a Core perspective since that pie I had for lunch is a no-no. But breakfast and supper were low calorie and Core. Tomorrow will be better.

I fell on the ice yesterday and banged my head quite hard. Thank goodness I had on my very thick woolen hat. I am quite sore and didn't exercise yesterday or today. Maybe tomorrow for that too!

Hope you're all having a great day.

    Rhonda

ps: No, Sandra, we're not through with the renos. But, the bathroom is done now.The next big step is new flooring on one level....will do that in the spring. After that it is mostly painting that we have left to do.
  • Hi Everyone
    Belated Merry Christmas to everyone.
And a early Happy New Year.
So sorry I havent been on here.
Just running around too much. And trying to get too many things done. And not getting anything done either.
We had a nice Christmas. Dinner with my parents was ok. I did have to tell my Mom. That no I wasnt taking a bunch of leftovers home. I did bring a few things. But just enough for a little lunch yesterday. She wanted to send cookies home. Told her No I dont want them. But said son might them. So ask him. And he said yes. He wanted some. So told him. Whatever he brought home. He had to put out of sight. And he did.
Christmas Eve dinner was ok. No pressures. And no leftovers.
I will have to go and read to catch up on everyone.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
Maybe now I can get on here more over the weekend.
    Thinking of everyone

  • Rhonda, ouch! I'll bet you are sore. I hope you're not in too much pain. Your kitchen must be spotless. I need to work on mine.

Coco, sounds like you handled things well. Congratulations.

I just had some popcorn and a Diet Coke. That's the end of my eating for today. I used several WPA's. The funny thing is I was thinking today was Monday for some reason and thought I just had 3 more days to my week before wi. Do ya'll ever get mixed up on the days? Guess I had a senior moment.
  • Hi Ladies,

I haven't been here for a few days. It has been a long week already. Thoroughly enjoyed the company, but am equally glad everything will go back to normal tomorrow as the head back home to their normal life. I am worn out. I think DH and I are fighting off a sore throat we caught from our youngest DGD. And I'm also having problems with my gum where my tooth was pulled. Taking an antibiotic the dentist gave me in case I needed it while on my trip before he pulled it since I couldn't get in touch with anyone during the holiday. So we aren't going to church tomorrow. As soon as my company leaves, I'm going back to bed.

Rhonda -I've been trying to stay OP too and points wise I've been okay, but not always healthy foods. It is difficult with so many here and they are eating my foods which is good too. So will have to hit the store in a day or two to restock veggies, fruit and dairy. But I'm not complaining because I don't think they don't get them as much as they should so they really enjoyed them. So tomorrow will be my day back OP with more Simply Filling foods. I'm sure I will have some kind of a gain this week. Rhonda - bless your heart. I hope you are okay. No you shouldn't exercise until you get the soreness out and youu know you're okay. I know I have made the mistake of exercising after falls and did more harm for myself than good. So take good care of yourself.

Sandra - Don't you just love those senior moments? Yes I do that too... lose a day or gain one and forget which day it is. I've been off a day one way or the other for 2 days now. My WI is Monday and I just hope I haven't gained too much.

Vickie -I've been seeing all that horrible weather you are having. Hope things get better soon.

    Healtheme -

coco, Paula and anyone else I missed-

    Catch ya again soon.

  • Coco...good for you!!!

Nope, Sandra, never had a senior moment in my whole life

Trish, I'm sore in areas I didn't even know existed!

Vickie, are you de-iced yet? We had a strange weather effect today. There is deep snow everywhere but the temperature went up to the mid 40's. There was mist rising up off the snow, making the surrounding area foggy.
  • Rhonda, I'm glad you didn't break any bones. If I were you, I'd milk this for all it's worth. You deserve some pampering.

Trish, good success at wi tomorrow.

    Tomorrow is Sunday, isn't it?
  • Yes, it's Sunday, December 28...all day long.

The strange weather continues. It's in the 40's but going down to below freezing, and the wind is blowing like crazy. This must be the wind that Vickie and others had earlier. It feels spooky.

My eating is very controlled today...all Core and low calorie. I'm going to do floor exercises later and no jumping around.

DH bought me the six seasons DVD set of Northern Exposure because he knew I loved the show. We've been watching them, and he is now "hooked."
  • Hi Everyone
    Well not much happening here.
Had some bad wind this morn until early afternoon. Was afraid the power would go off. But didnt. And had some rain. The temp is falling now. Guess we are to start getting some colder weather. But that is what we should be having instead of 65-70 degree weather now.
I saw where someone was having trouble remembering what day it was. So am I. Guess with the holiday in the middle of the week. And alot of people on different work schedules. Got me confused. On Friday kept thinking it was Saturday. And now with this week. Will be all messed up again. But this week son is working more. So that will help. He got a few days off for Christmas.
Does anyone have any big plans for New Years. We dont. Probably just sit at home. I dont like being out on the roads for new years. Maybe I will see if the guys want to rent a movie or something. We'll see.
Well I better get off here for now.
    Hope everyone is doing ok.
    Thinking of each of you.
    coco
  • Coco, we'll probably open a bottle of Principata Rosata that Rhonda and Doyle gave us. We've been saving it for a special occasion. Wish they were here to share it with us.

Rhonda, we used to watch Northern Exposure and loved it, too. Enjoy! Don't overdo it exercising. We both signed up for 30 days at a local fitness center. We start Monday after next. I did 20 min today. That's not much but it is more than I've been doing.
  • My eating's not been too good today. I used some more WPA's. I only have 18 left.
