Default Chia Pets

You know it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas when these TV ads start.
New is the Chia Christmas tree. Has anyone ever given one of these or gotten one???

So funny that you brought this up. I am actually doing a marketing project on Chia Pets, and a presentation on Wednesday. I am covering promotion, hmmm I should definitely talk about the new Chia christmas tree.

To answer your question, I'd never gotten or given one before but because I was doing this project I bought one and started growing it. It really is quite easy, and grows pretty long within a week. It isn't as thick or tidy as in the picture though, of course.

Wow- this makes me laugh because A Chia Pet is the "White Elephant" gift in my company's yearly Yankee Swap at our holiday party. Whoever was stuck with ol' Chia last year has to cleverly re-wrap and disguise it for this year. A gift card is traditionally hidden inside the box, as well, so do not feel too badly for the Chia Wrangler. My holiday party is this weekend, in fact, so THE RETURN OF THE CHIA is at hand!

These chachki's have got to be a billion $$ enterprise. They've been around forever and I suspect will be for generations to come.

Come to think of it, shouldn't the Norleco razers be getting airtime now, too?

Oh my gosh, I would love to get that! I think chia pets are great! They are the one plant that I've never managed to kill. I've found a few weird homemade pottery things at thrift stores over the years and always wanted to try making one of my own.

The Mr. T chia head was my favorite

I had a chia pet when I was in college and I liked it. More recently though I've grown chia seeds into sprouts and eaten the sprouts. The sprouts are nutritionally very good and low calorie.

I wanted a chia for Christmas last year. My DH bought me one and now my son and I have a great time "gardening" indoors when the growing seasons are over.
