Default Brands that fit your size and shape - let's share.

Let's make a thread about what brands of clothing fit you the best, and what shape you are. This might make it easier for others to find stuff that fits properly.

Me:

5'2"

Hourglass shape.

Best fitting pants (no gap at waist): Eddie Bauer, Gloria Vanderbilt, Liz Claiborne. (size 8-10).

Foot width: Wide, best brands - Easy Spirit, Naturalizer.

Thighs - I'll PM you...but for others that might be interested...

Maurices primarly sells Silvers. I'm sure they are sold at other places, but Maurices carrys TONS of them. Or they can be ordered online. Warning: they are very low cut, but VERY worth it!

I'm somewhere between a pear and hourglass. I have a wide butt more than a big one. And a wider chest more than a big one. And a narrow waist, but not a flat stomach (yet!). I look better head-on than in profile .

But I haven't been shopping enough to really know right now what brands are good, 'cause I'm just getting cheap stuff, and not much of that. I have had some luck with Docker's Ideal Fit pants on the gapping at the back of the waist thing. Any Old Navy pants are the worst ever for that. My stomach is finally starting to go down more, so I'm figuring come spring, I'm gonna be trying on LOTS and finding out what works now . I'll give up any other goals if I can just be at a stable final weight by the time I have to shop for warm weather clothes .

Shoes. Well, in running shoes, the Brooks were the only thing with a narrow enough heel. My heel is narrow, but not my forefoot, so shoes sized as narrows don't work. I haven't found a regular / dressier shoe brand that has the narrower heel. My shoes always slip at the heel and I hate it.

Julie - I have the same problem with shoes. Try the heel pads (usually available by the shoes) they go on the inside of the heel part and help to make it a bit more narrow and "sticky" so they don't constantly flip off your heel.

I've tried several varieties of those, never seemed to help that much. But maybe they've improved ...

Since we are talking about shoes....I do need a new pair of running shoes. I have a pretty high arch. Anyone have any running shoes they really love?

I'm 5'7 and currently in the 150's. I have long , slender legs and a thicker waist.
I wear mostly American Eagle jeans (up to a size 6 now instead of the 4's I wore when in the 140's).

Also buy lots of size 5 Aeropostle jeans and a few size 5 jeans from Rue 21. Recently was in a size 7 in both of these, but now am able to comfortably wear the 5's again.

Go to a running store with a treadmill. They watch you run, then patiently try a dozen pair of shoes on you. Of course, you won't get a big discount like you would if you shopped around. But I figure at least once, get the really good, personal evaluation, and give the guy a sale. I think I'll do it at least once more, since by the time I need new shoes, I'll be a lot lighter and have much more running under my belt (I'm sure my stride has changed).

I too swear by silver brand name jeans and jean shorts by silver too, they fit and hug my curves beautifully. I wear a belt with them otherwise I'd have plumber butt going on. These are the only jeans and shorts that I have EVER found that do not gap in the back waist. I have a teeny tiny waist, but I have hips and was blessed with a booty, so I wear the silver hip huggers in size 30-33 flares, and they really do wonders I am tellin ya! They even make my legs look longer, leaner, and leggier. Fyi many stores like Herbergers, The Buckle, Maurices all carry them. My hubby calls them my juicy butt jeans, so yeah I know he loves them on me too!

I have silver jeans too
I also have always wanted some color jeans..and could never find any. Now I have never been a fan of the brand Phat..because usually their things are well ...not my style but I actually bought some black straight leg pants and they are the most flattering, most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. Also Smart set has nice jeans too.
