Default Question for BFLers?

I am tempted to try BFL from looking at the results that people on this board have had with the program. My problem is that is sounds like you need to have a gym membership and I don't live anywhere near a gym (very small town in Arkansas). Can this program feasibly be done without a gym membership? If so, what type of home equipment do you think would be necessary to do the program successfully? (I don't need a lot of detail because I am familiar with gym equipment.)

Thanks in advance for you help! I don't want to purchase another book to sit on my overburdened shelf unless I am sure I could use it

Hi Carolyn,

BFL is the best! If you have no gym access, you might want to look at a multistation gym (one of the good ones) for home use and some kind of cardio equipment (treadmill or elliptical). You'd probably want some free weights to go with that as well. However, you can start with a set of dumbbells (there needs to be a decent amt of weight and varying weights), barbell or two, some resistance bands (I just got a set of these and I like them), a swiss ball and maybe a jump rope or run for cardio. I don't know exactly what your budget is or what kind of cardio you would like to do.

At home I have a swiss ball, a set of resistance bands [3 different resistance levels], Powerblocks (for more information on these go to their website www.powerblocks.com), and an elliptical trainer. I definitely feel the need for a few barbells and I do my LBWO at a gym but you don't have to, you can get a decent leg workout with free weights but I like the leg press and if I could find a good leg press for home, I'd be all set and never have to use the gym. Although I use my swiss ball like a bench now and I think I'd like to have a real bench sometimes.

Don't know if this helps.
Feel free to join us on the BFL thread and ask as many questions as you like!
