Default Thursday Happenings on the Beach

Good morning everyone,

Couldn't sleep this morning woke up and didn't feel like laying in bed anymore and I was hungry. Figured I would start chat and get some breakfast cheesecake and then try to head back to sleep for a couple of hours before I really am supposed to be up.

Had good news yesterday, the Radiologist called and DS did not break any ribs just has contusions (sp?) so with a weeks rest he should be good to go. Now if I can just get an appt with his general doctor he is always booked.

Phase 1 is almost done for me and I am feeling so much more in control and back on track food wise and getting my exercise back to where I like.

I have been watching Ike it looks like it is almost has big as the Gulf of Mexico, praying for any Texas Chickies who might be in the path. Forecasters said by this weekend we should be getting lots of rain from it.

Have a great day everyone

Well I got stuck helping dad vacuum the house in the wee hours of the morn, so while I did that I cleaned some windows too. I guess I got my arm exercises today, does that build muscle as well and burn fat?

Dont have much to do today, maybe clean my room some since my cats make a mess with their litter all the time.. they are just like kids - make messes, lol

Good Morning,

Couldn't sleep either, so I have coffee in hand and puppy in lap. I've been helping a friend with her fall clothing consignment show, so my week has been hectic, besides being under the weather with a stomach "thingy."

Pearlrose, glad that DS is going to be okay.

JellyBean, I think you definitely should count housecleaning as exercise! It does burn calories.

Have a great beach day, everyone!

Morning all!

Pearl, I hope you were able to get some more zzzz's in!! As of right now, it looks like Houston is going to get blasted. Hope all our Texas Chickies will be out of harm's way. no fun!

Jelly, window cleaning sounds like cleaning to me....kind of like the Karate Kid, huh? Windex on, Windex off!!!

Nothing exiting happening here other than puppies all over the place. Have a workshop again on Saturday which sucks cause it's my birthday. I thought I would spend it with another hurricane, so the workshop is the better of the two. Just getting ready to start getting ready for work and have puppies playing and running EVERYWHERE...it's like trying to walk in an ant pile. Thank Gawd I have tile floors in this room.

We went out to eat last night and I had the yummiest Tuna steak med rare encrusted with sesame seeds on top of a great salad with peanut dressing. killer.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

***Morning Belle...we were posting at the same time. Sure wish I was sitting under your icon right now.

What a bunch of chatty early birds!

I'm happy to hear your DS didn't suffer any broken ribs, Pearlrose! I hope you're able to catch a few more zzz's before your day officially starts!

Jelly, sparkling windows always make me feel good! And yep, it's good exercise for the arms, too.

Cat, being greeted by frolicking puppies must bring a smile to your face every day. Your dinner last night sounds really good, even at this early hour!

It's a bit chilly out this morning. I usually have the French doors open while I'm having my coffee, but it was too cold today! Jake and I had to move indoors last night, too. We usually sit out on the sunporch until bedtime, but it was just too chilly. Summer is beginning to wane.
I have the morning off again today since I'm staying late tonight. I have the washer chugging away already, and after Curves I want to get some pruning done in the flower beds. I don't know whether the girls and I will go out for supper or just cook something at home. We'll see what we're in the mood for.

Good morning, EarlyChicks, although Jelly is a LateChick!

Pearlrose thanks for starting us up. I hope you are back snoozing now. Great news about your DS and his ribs.

Cat, that tuna sounds so good I might try it. I am not keen on fish but know I should eat it and tuna seems like meat to me. Every time you mention puppies I envy you and remember the fun (and frustrating) time of having pups frolicking around my feet in the kitchen.

Cottage, I have the cushions back out on my deck but it's too cold to be out there lately except during the day. It might be time. I feel so cheated out of summer.

Big blow-up at the Fair Board meeting last night. I refuse to witness cat fights so left early. I hate it when people are uncivilized. I know the treasurer has resigned and am bracing myself for a phone call today. I definitely will not take back that job. It's been three years and I do not want the hassles and assles. (I wonder if that will get through the censor.)

Disney goes for a haircut this morning and so do I. While in town I've got a few errands but no grocery shopping as I'm going to be away this time next week and want to leave the fridge pared down.

Time to lug the trash to the road.

I hope your day is full of happy happenings.

Good morning Chicks! I welcome the cool nights, been sleeping a little better! I woke up thinking I'm going to need help taking the three air conditioners out, one has to go back to the shed, the other two out to the road as they bit the dust mid summer! I'll replace one for my bedroom, but the one for the office, hopefully two will be enough next year!

Today I MUST get back on plan! Yesterday while I ate beachy food, I diddn't eat what and when I should of, I just snacked on taco bake! I'm beginning to think bakes are a no no for me!!!!!

I've been on a rather "modified plan" that is making my weight loss slower, so ya I gotta get on the real plan.. but the Friday night take out is tomorrow night and it's hard saying no to McDonalds.. I started on 7/13 and only lost 23.5lbs.. my mom seems to think it's not worth spending money on special food for me for that slow of weight loss.. but what does she know, the point is I gotta eat healthy, not junkfood 24/7

You'll get back on plan, you got all us ladies to support you

i have so much to do at work for a change... usually its pretty quiet.

i woke up to brusing on my legs and since i'm covered in bug bites I think it might be related. I made an appointment to go see the doctor at 4 pm!

Jelly, remind your mother that taking weight off slowly is the key to keeping it off for good. However, eating McD's type foods is not only detrimental to losing weight, it adds tons of unnecessary sodium and fat to your body. If you absolutely must eat fast food, try to stick to a veggie salad with grilled chicken or shrimp, and no cheese or dressing. You can add your own SBD friendly salad dressing, or just ask for salsa on it. Even an innocent-looking piece of grilled chicken from McD's has been soaked in a salty solution and has sugar added to it. Just something to think about.................

Good morning chicks.
I've got a pot of apple and pear sauce cooking and it's making my house smell really good this morning! It is kind of chilly here, so I am feeling fall-ish. DS is addicted to having the ac running in his room and it was like a refrigerator in there when I woke him. No wonder he's got a cold! I'm not ready to take the ACs out for the winter yet, we will probably still get some more hot weather, but I wish he would just turn on the fan for the noise. Normal busy day here. I need to run to the creamery for milk. DD has dance classes tonight. DS will have double homework from his absence yesterday.
I am enjoying my office this morning. Last night I got our little LAN set up with the "new" old desktop my dad brought over, my laptop docking station, and the wireless router so that the other laptop users in the house can go online. Everyone is happy to be back to normal (even though I'm told the desktop is too slow), and I'm happy to have all the wires put back in the right places so I can vacuum. I'm just going to let DH pick a new desktop when he gets home, I don't have time to shop for one right now, so we'll muddle through with this old one.

Assles is an excellent new word.
We don't have any Houston chickies right? Just Dallas and West, I think.
Okay, let's all put on our big girl panties and get to it!
Evangeline, that ricotta mocha thing is a great idea for the coffee concentrate, I'll try it!

Ya, I think McDonalds makes me break out on my face anyway, besides my body in general, lol..

BTW, has anyone ever used Proactiv for acne? If so does it work? I've been thinking of getting it since I've had acne since I was a teenager.
