Default Mothers Day Recommitment

I posted this down in the 100 club but thought that i should post it here asi have been lurking but not postin lately so I am here checking but busy. I need to refocus:

I am ready for a renewal of my goals.

I have been having a hard time focusing myself lately, and well i have not gained anything but a whole bunch of fluid. But if I let it go longer it will be fat. I have not stoped exercising, but that is about the olny thing that has helped me keep from a total fall. So at this time i will rededicate myself to a focus on myself and my goals. I will renew my spirit and go all out for my goals. I am so close but so far I do not want to slip backwards. I have somewhere about 30 lbs to go to get to a good goal for me. I want to lose 10 lbs by mothers day. That is tough but it is about 2 lbs a week.

So for me this is what i plan on doing.

After easter i will focus daily and examin my goals and find out where i want to go.

I will look at my food before i put it in my mouth and decide if it is what i really want to eat and if it is going to help me get to my goals or to keep me farther away.

I will keep checking in daily ( I do but not always post)

I will dedicate myself to drinking atleast 100 oz of water daily

I will exercise 5 - 6 days a week. and try to increase my run for 4 miles.

I found out how to add my pict to this so here goes it was a bad hair day, but with this weather any day is a bad hair day for me.

Sue! You are so beautiful!

I am with you on the Moms Day Commitment!

In all seriousness ~~

I let you AND myself down on the CHALLENGE commitments - NOT THIS TIME.

I also have had a difficult time keeping myself focused. It has contributed to my gaining back most of the weight I need to lose again. NOT AGAIN !!

Due to real life events I have not been checking in regularly--BUT I PLEDGE THAT FROM THIS DAY FORWARD !!! I WILL !!

WOW GIRL! I saw a picture of you about six months ago ~~ YOU GO GIRL! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

i'M IN !!

Wow Sue, what a great recommittment!

Sue, thanks for posting your lovely picture, I love being able to put a face behind the posts, I hope that as part of your recommittment, that you do post here more often, I do miss you and your wonderful words of wisdom.

I am with you also. I will committ to begin on Monday, after Pooky's Easter challenge is over, I hope to do ok on that one.

Beginning Monday, APRIL FOOLS DAY!

I hope to be around 190.

I will look at my food before i put it in my mouth and decide if it is what i really want to eat and if it is going to help me get to my goals or to keep me farther away. (loved Sue idea, hope you do not mind if I borrow it)

I will drink over 100oz of water.

I will exercise at least 4 times a week, hopefully 5 days a week.

I will play catch with my boys every night.

Best of luck to us all.

OH! Susan!!! What a beautiful picture! Thanks for posting it!

I hate saying that I am going to be committed...conjure's up visions of the straight jacket and the rubber walls and unless those in the know ( and YOU know who you are) want to certify me....I ain't going!

BUT! I do choose to make the best point worthy choices that I can and continue to journal and continue to go to meetings and to fight off all feelings of throwing in the towel and to not beat myself up for the HUGE mistakes of yesterday!

Thanks Susan!

Thanks for doing this Sue, I handled the last 2 challenges and I ma so ready for this one! Now that I have gone back to work I can honestly say that my eating has been out of control. I know that I am going to have to sit down and make a plan for eating, what I am doing now isnt beneficial to me. I am just eating whatever I can get my hands on, albeit in small amounts, but even still it isn't helping me lose. All I can say is that the exercise componenet is being more than met--I am contstantly moving or running in the classroom and spend up to 7 hours on my feet daily. I have also felt my dress size get smaller and my posture is improving. I can also say that even with the carbs I am ingesting, they are definitely getting burnt off by all the effort I am putting in at work. I think I have found my match--16 little kids between 2 1/2 and 4 is the best exercise program I have ever been on! I would now like to get my eating back in order so the exercise and energy I output on a daily basis will show losses on my weigh in!

Hi--

I just finished posting on the Easter Challenge, looking for a Memorial Day challenge to sign up for, but Sue, your thread really spoke to me. I have been talking to my mom, who lives in another city, about my focus on losing weight. Her weight's been climbing steadily for the past couple of years, she now weighs more than I do, and my little sister, who was always heavy but smaller than either of us, is now the heaviest by far. I'm especially concerned about my mom. This extra weight is terrible for her back, high blood pressure, etc.

So with my mom and my sister in mind, I will recommit to sticking with the CAD plan through Mother's Day. I will recommit to doing some combination of resistance training and cardio at least five days a week. I especially recommit to taking care of myself, and not letting negative energy keep me from staying on track (a problem for the last four weeks). I'm 226 this morning. I'd like to be down to 215 for Mother's Day.

I hope my example will encourage them both. I'm already about 25 pounds lighter than I was when they saw me last Thanksgiving.

Good luck, Pooky, Peach, DonDar, and MamaJ!

Default Did somebody say commitment?

I am ready to sign up!

I am doing some strength training and eating 5-6 small balanced meals per day, with protein and a few carbs. Like 10-15 g. per meal, less than 100 per day.

Who's next?

( Sue, loved your pic, was it professionally done?)

I'm in! I am 211 this morning after a month of uncommitted eating and want to be 8 pounds lighter by Mother's Day. There will still be lots of squish for my kids and grandkids to hug!

I plan to get back to walking regularly - even if just 20 mins down for the mail. My broken arm has kept me pretty immobile as it really throws off my balance and the walking has been icy.

I will increase my water consumption to 8 glasses a day. This has really fallen off this past month because going for a pee is a major undertaking when you have one arm.

I will use lower carb Weight Watchers as my food plan but will not obsess over journalling and points.

Good luck to everyone but rely on planning and skill!

Hey Ladies...

well, I'll join in this recommittment. I'm already down to only 1# over what I was before i got pregnant (according to my home scale anyhow). I'm not going to commit to a certain number of pounds to lose, but will commit to keeping my water up over 100 oz a day, continuing to eat no added salt, eating veggies with every meal (except fruit), and not combining my proteins and carbs.

This will be my first Mother's Day, and I want to greet it healthier than I was at the same time last year.

I will also commit myself to exercising as soon as I get the go ahead from the Dr. Hopefully at my 4 week postpartum check.

hi I am pretty new here, but I am ready to commit. I was 197 pounds at this time last year. Right now I am at 140 lbs. I am only 5' tall and I would like to loose 15 more pounds. I think 15 before Mother's day is a bit of a stretch, so I will try hard to loose 7 lbs by then.

I will also got to Curves atleast 4 to 5 times this week.
Drink no less than 70 OZ of water per day
walk atleast three times a week
and stick to the Atkins diet a little better.
!

Hope I have good results by Mother's day!
Good luck everyone

PLEASE forgive me, ladies, but when i first looked at this topic, i started wondering if some of you moms were HOPING to be committed to a peaceful psych ward for a nice long rest...

but, now that i know this is a serious thread, let me add my own commitment.

i KNOW that i will continue losing weight, no matter what i do, but i really and truly need to be sure to drink at least 64 oz of non-caffeine liquid.

and i need to make sure i exercise just about every day because i still have a long way to go before i'm back to normal activity.

and keeping optimistic... it's a challenge these days.

oh. and helping peachie keep some perspective. she's doing so very very well. it's sad to see her so discouraged. even on her so-called 'bad' days, she's still eating healthier than she has in years.

maybe she needs a little vacation????

Default Vacation needed?

I think something can be arranged. Some nice hospital food, a little sedation, a little daytime tv?

Psychotropic meds can cause weight gain, however. Stick to walking, drinking your water, and a little light crafting)not too much!)

dottie, you're the BEST!!!!

unfortunately, one of my problems is too much daytime TV!!! i need a job, more for my head than for the money [although i could really use that as well!!!] i haven't worked since august and i'm sooooooooooooo bored and frustrated!!!!!

so, maybe i should add that i'll commit to a focused job search. of course, the unemployment folks require that anyway...

have fun!!!
